Hello mylotters! Last week my aunt called and asked for an option about a certain employee in our travel agency. Here is the scenario: My aunt's partner told her that one of our employees was asking and receiving commission from the customers. The partner caught the employee via a software installed on her computer. Should we terminate her or give her a second chance? By the way, the said employee influenced the other employee not to tell anyone about it. Your response will be a great help.

I would say that when it comes to money matters, when you cannot trust a person, i think you probably will find her doing the same still. Maybe what you can do is to talk to her and tell her you were able to find out what she has done. and that you should document this, so the next time you catch her then she will automatically be terminated. and that it is supported by a documentation on your part. Also if you are to retain her, you have to keep her out of the tasks that would tempt her in doing so again...

You are right. She shouldn't be assigned to the same tasks that had tempt her to do something like that. But I think my aunt already fired her. Well anyway, thank you for responding.

No second chance, terminate her immediately. Let her enjoy a moment of happiness with her commisssion and a chance to seek gainful employment from the customers.

What? Are you serious? I don't think she deserves a moment of happiness with that commission because she hid it from my aunt. I don't know but my aunt has also been thinking of really terminating her.

Second chance but assigned her to do other tasks. Be nice to her and get her info on how she manage to generate the commission that easy also dont make it too obvious, do have backup of your system as you can never know....

I think you should have a second chance. Try it. If you don't succeed, try the third chance which is the most "lucky". If you don't succeed, I reccomend you to terminate3.
