Facebook Annoyances..

What are some things on Facebook that annoy you? I am easily annoyed.. so lots of things annoy me. Like the fact that I put my best friend under the "close friends" heading and suddenly I get notified every single time she does anything.. so when I log into Facebook I'll have 20 notifications, and I'm hoping they're things like somebody has commented on a status or written on my wall, but they all end up saying that my friend posted a picture on her wall. Some other things that annoy me are the types of statuses people post. One of my friends posts her work schedule on her status every single day. She works 2 jobs, so her status every morning is "Job 1 8-2, job 2 3-9". Okay, we get it, you work.. do we need to know your schedule every single day? Some of my friends seem to post way too much.. like every move they make each day needs to be posted. "Woke up".. "took a shower".. "had breakfast"... wow! I have 2 friends that are new moms.. so they post pictures of their babies, which I admit I've done too, I love posting pics of my kids. But these moms take like 100 pictures of the same pose, same outfit, same silly face.. and post all 100 pictures. One is plenty! And of course the most annoying thing people like to post on their Facebook status is all their drama and dirty laundry. Some of it goes pretty far too. Everyone has moments of drama in their lives.. but shouldn't most of that be kept to yourself and close friends/family instead of broadcasted for hundreds of people to see on Facebook? What are some of your Facebook annoyances?

No news re me. Possibly General Elections before Christmas so i am working flat out for my son too. Just praying that they will not sell their vote at that last moment. He is winning in the polls but a hungry person just may be tempted to accept a handout The Minister will have plenty to offer them we are nt into that so say a prayer please that he will win.

Some of my facebook annoyances are when facebook changes the layout and you have to readjust to it every few months. I hate when people put quotes especially love quotes, I hate when people put one word replies on my status', and I how the people you least want to talk to you send you a message every time you get on.

You can make yourself unavailable to chat.. or unavailable to certain people.

No, it just makes you look like you're not online.

Yeah and then they will get really angry at you because they notice that they can not see you on facebook anymore.

What annoys me lately about facebook is being tagged in peoples games and then having it come to my phone and then all the people who comment on that game thing the response comes to my phone as well. It drives me nuts. I have a friend like yours who constantly changes her facebook status and its all really boring things. The way facebook has changed makes things confusing and I like it a lot less but its still free so I still visit the site and enjoy it as much as I can. I also dont like when people post hundreds of pictures of their kids even the ones that turn out awful. Me I pick my favorites and put them up. Then I put the rest of them on gather so I have an album of them that people on facebook arent forced to see.

Oh yeah, hello shaggin! :) now that you mention tagging, I forgot to say that this is one thing that I don't like about facebook though I understand that there is an avoid to stop people from tagging you.

Yep, those tags are annoying. I also don't like when people post games on my wall.

I'm just glad you didn't list me as your FB annoyance! PHEW! Yeah... I know about the people who post every lil tidbit. Or the ones that are sooo sick... if you are so sick shouldn't you be in bed trying to sleep rather than posting on FB? Not that I haven't done it as a way to distract but the same couple of people are always dying from something... migraines ect. The only dirty laundry I post is in closed groups or in e-mails.

haha I think people who post they feel sick are those who are absent from work. so their officemates can see that he or she really feels sick. =D

Of course you're not one of the annoyances. The annoyances are people I really should delete because I don't really talk to them anyway.. I just haven't gotten around to it. I think some people should go back and read old posts to see what types of things they say all the time.. maybe then they'll realize they get a bit redundant.

basically the same as yours. I don't need to know all that useless info so many put on.I find facebook pretty boring most of the time.I look at it once a day & that's enough for me.

I think I probably just need to narrow my friend's list down a little bit more.

Lol, I agree with all of the above. I'm not really a big 'Facebooker'. I chat, play a few games and keep up with some friends. I don't really post a lot, as you know, and I keep all my pictures and comments pretty neutral. Aside from the annoying things you mentioned one of my latest annoyances is the constant 'sharing' of other peoples stuff! I also hate all those copy and paste statuses about everything from 'daughter's week' to cancer. It's not that I'm not sensitive to that kind of stuff, I just hate reading those things over and over. And they get reused constantly - I'm pretty sure we've had several 'daughter's weeks' this year!

Hey.. haven't seen you in awhile! I agree, we do have a lot of "daughter's weeks" and such. I have a few friends where all they ever post are those copy/paste things. Personally, I've only ever copy/pasted something once or twice.

Today I am annoyed that they put the help centre at the bottom of the drop down menu, below log-out. Log-out has been at the bottom for as long as I can remember, and out of habit, that's where I go. I've wound up at the help centre about 10 times today, and it's really really getting on my nerves!

LOL.. sorry! I don't ever bother logging out because I'm really the only one who uses my computer, so I just close the page and it stays logged in.

You've pretty much nailed all my facebook annoyances. My sister is one of those that posts way too many pictures. We took the kids swimming in a river behind my parents house over the summer and she took some pictures on continuous. She posted every frame of it! I also get annoyed with this one girl who I went to school with who is a total air head. She posts stuff and uses totally bad and spelled wrong grammar and it grates my nerves.

Yeah, I've got a friend like that too who can't seem to spell anything right, and her posts are all completely confusing because you can't understand anything she's saying.. and she posts some of her dirty laundry too!

I do have one friend who posts all the time and acts like she is the queen of facebook! LOL..some of it gets very tiring....like she thinks she is the only one who has a life or something. Besides that it mostly my girls posting things and that does not annoy me at all...I hardly post!

If she posts all that much, she probably doesn't have a life at all!

I think my biggest facebook moan is that it seems to discourage people from actually talking properly. Friends who used to send me emails now post messages to my wall which just say 'Hi. How you doing?'.

I don't have that problem. For me FB has made it easier to stay in touch with certain people that I normally wouldn't talk to much.

Since the last time that they updated facebook, there are just a couple of things that get on my nerves. The first thing is the fact that there are so many notifications because of the close friends and family lists that I've made. I can never even find the important stuff for all of the rubbish notifications. The other thing that gets on my nerves are all of the pictures that are reshared that I just don't care about.

I agree on both.. those both annoy me too.

Yesterday, my facebook app on my phone suddenly had chat features. Apparently it sent out an 'on-line' status about me. So, some of my friends accross the globe found my status and started chatting with me. I didn't mind talking to some old friends, but it was getting to be annoying as I was at work. Even late last night, I still received notifications about people wanting to talk to me. I gave up and finally turned the phone off. I woke up today and the chat feature is not there anymore. Thank goodness!

My phone does that occasionally also. It hasn't in awhile, but for some time I was actually getting notifications whenever I got a message on Facebook. I do notice there are a lot of other people who appear to be available to chat even though they shouldn't be. Like my husband is always available to chat even though I know he's at work. There must be a way to turn it off or something.

I have a self declared poet friend, well i am a poet too but don't boast about it. this person proudly proclaims her achievements and you know.. well I am not jealous but sometimes it is sickening because she does not reply to my queries and its all about her self. one way ticket

My annoyances are exactly about the same as yours. I also don't like it when a lot of people send so many requests for the different applications. The applications are also very slow. I don't get it why. I wan to play their games but I can't have fun because it's just too slow. I agree with what you've said, the one about posting every move they make. It's better if they will just post that on twitter because twitter is more likely like that.

Well, that is actually the point of facebook. It is to keep you up to date with what your network is doing. It is really annoying as many times, these activities are really quite irrelevant for me to know. This is why I seldom put or add friends, not unless they are really close friends.

I'm sure you won't be annoyed if I come up saying I don't have such annoying experiences with Facebook. I have seen some posts here earlier as well of people blaming Facebook for a number of reasons. If I say Facebook gives you control of things you do or don't want to do, I will corroborate that with the way I have used Facebook, my annoyances are few & far between. I' not beating my trumpet nor am I a counsel for Facebook! Of course I do see some friends posting very trivial stuff. But I manage to take it in stride. That's because the proportion of clever people who engage in meaningful interaction far outweighs a few black sheep. I have selectively joined a few groups and keep track of group activity, to post only when I feel I can add value. In fact a page I have created and promoted on my blog has enhanced visitors to my blog and provided exposure to my posts. I couldn't come up with any experience that I could share, but I still felt I could comment. Hope that's OK.

I also get annoyed with notices from group page. Sometimes I don't even know I am already part of a Group because someone added me on it without FB asking me if I want to join or not. And those notifs from those Group are so annoying coz I find some post from the members of the group, nonsense... I find it funny (kinda annoying too) seeing photos of one girl (friend in FB) posting her face, yes only her face.. if you dig all her albums you will not see a whole body photo of herself, except when she celebrated her birthday and you can only see I guess 3 pictures with her body. But all of it are head shots... yeah I can see her face is really pretty... and maybe the reason is because her body is a little big (chubby, fat.. whatever)... But I get annoyed whenever she seems to post a status praising herself when she isn't actually perfect ^^

What annoys me? It is really annoying to see posts which are insignificant in Facebook. I really do not hate it but it is annoying that you post every action that you make. For example: Eating salad, going to mall, got to take my bath, and many more. Oh! We really do not care about what you do. Hello? This is a community site, not your private diary. All the times, we must be responsible for our action. We must post in our statuses in Facebook those things which we think are significant.
