I watched this series recently. It was recommended by some of our my lot friends here. I find the story really interesting. The series follows a Federal Bureau of Investigation "Fringe Division" team based in Boston, Massachusetts under the supervision of Homeland Security. The team uses unorthodox "fringe" science and FBI investigative techniques to investigate a series of unexplained, often ghastly occurrences, which are related to mysteries surrounding a parallel universe. The show has been described as a hybrid of The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone and Dark Angel. Joshua Jackson is also there who played the part of Peter Bishop. Have you watched this series? Kindly share your thoughts about this.

Love this show! I watched it every season. The storyline is quite intriguing without being too much about aliens. My favorite character is Dr. Walter Bishop, the man who seems to know a lot about the strange phenomenon occurring in each episode. He's the same guy who played denethor in lord of the rings. As with other shows the first season is probably the best one.

Hi mimm45! I actually checked his profile when I initially watched Fringe. I can't belive that he is the rude king or ruler in the 'Lord of the Rings' movie. He is good indeed since he can play these characters who are very different to each other.

Hi alottodo! It is pretty much the same with X-files. But it is entirely different and unique. I enjoyed the first season the most. I stopped watching Fringe due to work, I have a lot of work loads lately.

It is one of my sister's favorite shows. I don't watch it, but thought my sister would like it. So I bought her season 1 for her birthday one year. She loved and it and now watches it every week. It's funny seeing Joshua Jackson all grown up. I always think of him as Pacey from Dawson's Creek.

Hi AmbiePam! He looks very big already. I watched Dawson's Creek before when I was in high school but I did not finish the series. Fringe is cool, specially the first season.

I enjoy Fringe also. Like the main characters. I got a little confused on what was going on because I didn't watch it from the beginning but I am catching on. The scientist is very endearing and I enjoy seeing his acting. He is the host of another cable doc type show also. Love his voice.

Hi celticeagle! Yes his voice is very nice, good for narration. Season 1 has different story line every episode but somehow related to each other. I don't have any updates about the series if they will stop at season three or four.

Yes i watched it. It's interesting sci-fi series about parallel universe who also have a some sort of Man in Black character in it. Even i didn't understand much about parallel universe, but i think some people who understand quantum physics were open to the idea about parallel universe.

Hi surfer222! I also do not understand much about parallel universe. I just got some idea from fringe and sliders tv series. Theoretically, parallel universe is possible I think no such thing exist. But I guess, nothing is impossible.

Hi phillyguy! I actually watched the first and second season which is really good. However, thing got more complicated on the third season. I was not able to watch it, probably by next month after the Dexter series.

I found Fringe similar to Twin Peaks in that what you see is never really what you see. The fact that we see two worlds and even though Walter may be kind and gentle but we know he is capable of terrible things. It is a good show, the thing is at first with the first episodes it had a lot of dark comedy, loved the world with the Peter Bishop has the robot heart - their dancing was cute, but now it has gone into X-File territory, that each conspiracy is within another within another ... I once heard an interview in which they said that Joshua Jackson had a cork board (I think) in his dressing room and had the various little things we learn about his character pinned into the board as well as the various character traits so he would keep track of all the little things. I thought that interesting, that the character is so complicated that he needs help remembering all the information.

I've been watching Fringe from the beginning, though I was throw a bit by Peter getting killed to end last season. So far this season I'm slow at getting to watch the shows I've recorded on my DVR. Regarding alternate realities, there was a show from South Africa (with production help from Canada) called Charlie Jade which explored this idea. In the show, there were three main alternate realities, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, plus two other realities. A large corporation, Vexcor, was trying explored links to the other realities to steal their resources such stealing the water from gamma to alpha. Charlie Jade is, a resident from alpha who is thrown into beta by an explosion, and then begins discovering what Vexcor is trying to do. Unfortunately their were only 20 episodes of the show filmed. When it was shown on the sci fy channel in the US, they basically tanked on the show after two episodes by shifting it from prime time to overnight. With some better promotion, especially in rhe US, this shos could have been more like Fringe.

I used to be a dedicated Fringe fan until they started entering the parallel universe. Fringe used to be sort of like Law and Order...Each new episode they aired had a different storyline. Nowadays, it's like a soap opera and you have to follow it because every episode links together. I just thought it got way too out of control and hard to follow. It's such a shame, because my friend Jimmy and I used to be die hard Fringe fans! Now we've moved onto other shows. :(

Hi lilblondiemjd! I totally agree with you. Before, each episode is different and I am really looking forward to watch it. I got the same impression on the third season. Somehow, the story is more concentrated on the parallel universe. I have not watched the third season yet, but probably I will watch it if I have a chance.

I love Fringe also. It's been awhile since I've seen it. I especially like the dad...the old scientist that reminds me of a mad scientist. I don't know what I am watching now in it's place.

Hi PointlessQuestions! I also admire Walter Bishop, he is weird but really intelligent. He is always making up his lost time with his son. Somehow I felt sad that the son at times reject his father. But the show is great.

I absolutely LOVE this show! I would definitely place it in the sci-fi genre, but there's plenty of drama in it for people who aren't crazy about sci-fi. If anyone who hasn't seen it jumps into the series in the middle, you will most likely be confused. But if you watch it from the beginning, trust me, you'll be hooked. I love the idea of the parallel universe, and it really makes you questions things. My favorite character is the crazy mad scientist Walter Bishop. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes The X-Files. I actually think it's better than the X-Files.
