Hey, I am learning spanish this year for the first time and I am doing pretty well. I enjoy learning it but putting together sentences in my head and trying to understand other people speaking is really hard. Did you have this issure? If so how did you get better with it.

It's really good that you are enjoying Spanish now. But you can try to learn Chinese again if there's a chance. Though Chinese is a bit diffcult to learn for non-native speakers, I am sure you can learn it well and enjoy the process too, as it is beautiful.

I was actually taking chinese at the beginning of this school year, but was so horrible at it that I switched to spanish. The teacher was no help because she had just moved here from China so her english was so bad to the point that she couldn't understand you when you were trying to ask questions. She drove me out of that class in two weeks, and I have been enjoying spanish since then.

At the beginning it seems to be hard, but if you are really interested in and study constantly, you can learn it. The practice also helps you a lot. When I moved to Spain I didn't know anything about this language and now I speak and write it fluently like my mother tongue.

I live in Arizona very near to Mexico so there are a lot of spanish only speakers here, in fact speaking spanish is a requirement on most resumes lately. I can pick apart a lot of sentences but can't understand the whole things. As for knowing all the words and sentence structure I am pretty good though.

Yes, I dobut not that fluent but can talk with others in the Spanish language. In our college days we are taking Spanish subjects about 12 units and in our country most of our words are with Spanish meaning. And the good thing is when we are on a study group in Spain and our co-students are from other Asian Countries, me and my other classmates became their interpreter. It is a nice language and you should learn it well. Good luck.

Learning a new language is definitely not a walk in the park, you really have to have the drive and passion to learn new things..For me it is pretty hard in the beginning, but if you constantly around Spanish speakers that's a big help plus reading books, watching movies and telenovelas can greatly improve your skills speaking and have an easy conversation in Spanish.
so....buena suerte amigo(good luck my friend)

Haha, thanks for the response. I live in Arizona very near to Mexico so we have very many none english speaking people hear, and now for a lot of jobs you are required to know spanish. A lot of times when people speak spanish it is frustrating though because they glance over at you so you think they are talking about you, but you don't know because you can't understand.
