Reading has many benefits including both health and brain. How much do you read a day? What types of books do you enjoy reading, and do you wear glasses. I read at school, at home for homework and occaissionally I really get into mystery/suspense books. I usually read so much that I get tired of it though so I usually only do it in two book stiints. I probably read around 45 minutes a day.

I used to read a lot of magazines and books in my high school until when i was already working and still single. However, when i got married and had a child, i was torn between being a wife , mother and a full time employee. Hence, my relaxation was now to watch TV. And since when i joined Mylot, i only get to read some magazines, but for books not anymore. Mylot took the time for those. At least, Mylot makes my brain work too just like when i read. But i always read the bible on weekends and sometimes before i go to sleep. Though , i also get to read some articles online. And i have a reading glass now.

I think I am developing the need for reading glasses, chalk boards are getting harder to read and whenever I put on someone elses glasses everything is so much more vivid. I read a few magazines, but not many. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, i think you do already need a reading glasses if that's the case now. Please do not have the habit of trying to read using others' reading glasses. It could further destroy your eyes' ability to read or see.

I started to read a book but I never finished. Always something distract me and I lost the interesting to read that book. The book that I choose was not interesting enough to catch my attention so that is the reason that I never finished it. Here I kinda discovered a different way to read and keep going to stay in action I think because all different subjects and stories and experience all this stuff are making me busy. In my opinion is a different way to read!!!

Hi, I'm a fanatic reader... I read whenever I could. That gives me an opportunity to increase my knowledge. It doesn't matter, how much I read, anyhow! What matters is the quality of the material that one reads. I'd not read any other printed material; first few lines will let me know whether I should proceed or not. I'll re read a good book, if I have nothing better and nothing more to read..

That is right.. Only an interesting book can hold my attention too.. If it is not a good one, I'll keep it aside and try something else.. Thank you!

I generally spend my free time on the internet or watching tv. Only interesting books can hold my attention, or else I won't comprehend it so I generally read mystery books so I have to think about them while I am reading.

Outside of the Internet, which technically I'm reading but I don't really count it, I would have to say depending on the day, anywhere between twenty five minutes to an hour. It really does depend on what else I am doing. I do at least read for twenty five minutes right before I go to bed at night, so that just does in fact account for some of the time that I am going to be reading. If I have more time, I'll jump in the chance. If I did count the Internet, then that would be insane, because I might be reading something, but I might not be really reading as much as I would with a book. Just hitting the main points, maybe a bit more if the article or whatever really invests me. Still I only really count the actual reading with the physical book in my hand, as reading should be. So yeah, about twenty five minutes, maybe an hour, maybe slightly longer. Anything of interest, from comic books to science fiction to mystery to really anything that seems like a good read.

Yeah, I was only counting school and books. I read a lot on the internet but I usually skim-read everything on the internet unless I am doing homework.

I love reading. I use to have lots of book to read which i never have the time. Now i am wearing glasses and told myself i should have read more when i dont need the glasses. On the book topics i use to read on leisure matters but now more on facts which i find it useful for my daily life.

I enjoy reading when the book holds my attention. If it doesn't then I start thinking about something else and then ten pages later I realize I don't know anything that just happened which makes me angry. So I usually read mystery books because they hold my attention.

I can't read large articles online, it starts to hurt my eyes. I enjoy reading books, but when I get into one I read it for hours a day, then don't have time for other things and then it flip flops to where I have time for other things, but don't have time for books.

Probably 30 minutes a day is the norm for me. Yet, once in a while all I do is read so on average I read more than that. I read a great deal online but I don't usually consider that in the total as it isn't all that enjoyable for me. I would much rather be getting lost in a great book.

I dont know how much I read on a daily basis. I read at work, for work, at home for pleasure. It helps me relax and bring myself down from a busy day to relaxing and ready for bed.

I've always enjoyed reading, ever since I was a kid. I do try to read everyday, as much as possible. Although I have to admit that there are days when it isn't always possible, for whatever reason. I do still try to make the effort, especially considering that I enjoy doing it.

I read every day, mylot on the pc, other information on the pc. I like to read novles and my aim each year is to read at least 52 books. I'm on book number 44, so should make it. I like easy going books, not horror of sci fi, like period books. I have to wear glasses all the time, once I only needed them for reading. If I have a really good book on the go then I will make extra time to read it. Hope you are having fun in mylot and we shall become very good friends

I am a bookworm so I read everyday. If the book really hooks me, I'd spend hours reading it, if it's not enjoyable maybe I'd get bored even when I am still within the first pages. I read averagely 100 pages a day, so it usually takes me 3 days to finish reading a novel.

Nowadays, I read mostly from my PC. Either e-books or from another source. For the type, I like to read science/engineering book, history book, and some novel. I wear glasses. And currently can not read for that long. Unlike you, I might only spend for 5-10 pages, because my eyes somehow tired already. But, I do like reading

When I was younger, I did read a lot. All kinds of stuff. From newspapers to magazines, pocket books and books, anything that I can get hold of. Normally, I read a pocket book in bed in just "one sitting" or until I fall asleep. That might be one of the reasons I am wearing reading glasses now. With a failing eyesight, I now only read occasionally and that is mostly newspapers and magazines. And of course, my doctor's prescription paper.

Hi, I used to read about half an hour daily after office, but that was before I got married. And now, with my two girls, I can only read newspapers and maybe 1 hour in the weekend for my favorite novels.
