Dear friends, looking out the window this afternoon I saw a policeman intent to fine vehicles, stopping in every day on the sidewalk.
Park machine in my part is really a problem, there are few free places, many of these are reserved and, therefore, at times you find yourself having to leave their cars even at 2 bus stops from our home.
Of course for traffic officers apply zero tolerance. In fact, if the evening desperately forget the vehicle on the sidewalk in the morning you already know to find the bad ticket on the windshield.
It was never done anything in my opinion, to solve the problem of parking, should take advantage of the free areas, perhaps by charging a small fee to residents in a manner that they can and whenever leaving the car parked without any risk.

Buildings can bring in more money than parking can. Near the local university they have repeatedly denied building additional parking structures despite the very vocal students who need to be able to park at the college to go to their classes. I think mostly it is about the money and finding ways to make the most money. Parking tickets can bring in money as well rented out building. This equals more money and less parking spaces.

I think part of this is them trying to encourage us to walk or take public transport. The other is trying to get money for the city, to pay for the road we are parking on. Well that's what is supposed to be for. The government doesn't always spend it's money properly. But anyhow I think it's up to us. We have to figure in when we look for a house or job, where we can park, how accessible, how busy that area is. And make the best decision for us. Is there a parking garage near by perhaps? That would keep your car somewhat safer, and surely no tickets.

This has reached frustrating proportions in every city of worth and I have now come to believe it is a world phenomenon. Car makers are busy pushing car sales, shop owners manage to come up with zappy showrooms and there are all kind of allurements for people to get there. But how? I lose time wading through bumper to bumper [dangerously close once too often] and when I get there,I have to waste fuel going round the area several times over looking for that elusive place to park. Everywhere, the police seems just doing what they blindly are good for doing: slap the ticket. Why don't they ensure there is enough place for people to shove their cars in. I think it makes more sense to use public transport but we never factored that in our lifestyle. And why are there more & more cars rolling out day after day, not to speak of myriad new models every other day? Ummm...seems a far cry for order.
