I am 28 years old and currently hold an Associate's Degree. I made the decision to go back to school to earn my Bachelor's. I start in 2 weeks. I'm a little nervous. I just received my Associate's degree last year, so I haven't been out of college very long, but I still feel like it's going to be rough. I have so many other obligations. Can I really find time for school work? Well, I'm going to have to. I am a single Mom so I need a good paying job. Is anyone else on Mylot going back to college? If so, I wish you luck!

Yes. there are a few of them in your position. do not worry. take up studying seriously and read whenever you get time amidst managing your kid. It will not be rough but it will be different. enjoy,.

Education is a continues process, my friend. Don't be bother if your 28 going to college again. That is your goal to pursue your dream to have a good jobs or a high paying jobs...
I am 29 years old when I go back to university to take my Masteral degree in Administration. But unfortunately I can't finish it due to some reason...
Go ahead my friend I know you can do it. Don't think about your age...the important things is that you fulfill your dreams...

Wow! You're a Mum and still studying too! Now that must be tough! But good on you for trying to aim for something higher and caring for your family. But hard work pays off, do you have spare time for school work? Do you fin yourself struggling in anyway? If I were you I would be freaking out! But then again, I' still in high school but in 2013, I too will be going to university, hopefully. Maybe have someone look after your kids, maybe a grandparent? Because I don't think you can handle your kids and study at the same time. It's kinds funny how Mum is doing homework like the kids too! Maybe study with them too! Or maybe that might be a distraction. I'm pretty sure anyone can study anytime. I have a friend who has an uncle who was determined to be an engineer. After failing each year for so long, after 20 years he finally got it! He's like 40 now and he just finished his engineer course. But it's a bit too late now. So I reckon if you can handle it, go for it but if you can't and you keep failing, I don't think it's worth it.

...Wow, here I am thinking I'm too old to go back to college. I'm not alone. It's so good to hear your going back to college to get a bachelors degree. I never thought of going back to college.. I never really finished any degree. Now that I'm 23, I thought maybe. It's too late for me. But you proved me wrong here that, we still have time. Now I'm having thoughts on going back, when i save enough money to start again.

I am 31 and applying to go back to school to get my Masters. I'm more concerned about being older than everyone else because I am trying to get into an art school (School of the Art Institute of Chicago). Good luck to you - I hope everything works out.

I think that's great that you're going back to college. I know it could be very difficult, but let your goal be your guide to sticking with this plan. And that goal is to get your Bachelors degree and get that high paying job.
I graduated and earned my Bachelor's degree in 1994. In 2005, I went back to school to get graduate certification to also get a high paying job. It got me the job in 2006 because my employers saw that I was already working on it.
Anyway, late 2006 I quit school due to family obligations. But this year I was granted approval to continue on, so I'm going back to school this winter to finish my certification.

I hoe you can do well in school- it's really hard to balance that with work and taking care children, but if you really want to finish school then you'll manage. getting a Bachelor's Degree gives you more opportunities too. Some people even go back to college at an older age..Good luck to you.

Oh, you're so right to take the decision. Never too late for school, and you'll make a good example for your children too. I've already finished my bachelor's degree and I'm hoping to go back to college for master degree if we have the money. I think my husband and kids will support me as well. Good luck to you.

Hello Robbie welcome to mylot!
I admire you and wish you the best, I understand your problems when I was in the school and my son was little I had to take him to my university,or leave him with a neighbor, that was terrible some time I left him with fever at home, I worked in the day and in the night I went to the univesity, but go on, be strong and get your degree.

Hi RobbiezMommy! Welcome to Mylot! I hope we could be friends too!
There's a saying, if there's a will, there's a way. I'm sure you will find a way to accomplish everything you are trying to accomplish. Just make a timetable of everything to have a good time management.
Good luck to your schooling! Don't forget to bring home the beacon! =)
