Why Network Marketing Fails?

You've got to wonder why some people are even in network marketing. I mean, they join a program and 6 months down the road, they are quitting that program and joining another. They feel that the first program that they had joined, had been so gung ho, fired up about, just wasn't working. It wasn't bringing in the money that they had been sure it was going to.
Skip ahead another 3 months and yep, another program. This one is guaranteed to work! The owners and other distributors even said so. You were watching people make tons of cash from it. This is going to be the one!
Three more months go by, and you aren't any richer than you had been when you joined the first "sure thing". In fact, you had even less money. What was going wrong? Why wasn't it happening to you? There had to be a reason... was it your sponsor's? Were the products not good enough? What was wrong? Surely, you had been doing everything right, you had been going to meetings, you had given out the pamphlets and business cards like you had been told to. So why?
The biggest problem with network marketing, is that people get so hung up on "Get Rich Quick". Then, if they don't start rolling in cash after their first two weeks, they think "SCAM", quit the program, and start bad mouthing that company. "It doesn't work", "The comp plan sucks", or any other of a number of excuses. And that is the wrong way to go about it. Everyone knows that making money takes work. It takes effort. Network marketing will not make you rich overnight.
Sure, there are the lucky few who have the right contacts and the right personality to make it seem like they did it overnight. But, that's just it. They had people waiting for them. They knew that if they said 'jump', their people would 'jump'.
What is your experience regarding network marketing?

Even though you have asked the question "why network marketing fails?" I think it's very clear that you already know the answer. Many of us that have tried different network marketing programs have become the 95% (or more)who fail at these ventures. Network Marketing progams have always been difficult to me simply because it is to hard to maintain RETENTION in your downline. People drop out because they aren't making money.
Well recently I have found a compnay that I think may finally have the system beat. If you have never heard of "Inline Marketing" (that is a tradmarked term, by the way), and you are interested in finding out how it is going to change the entire network marketing industry, please feel free to shoot me an email at laurakleban@comcast.net. I'll send you a link, I won't spam you, and it may just be right up your ally. Hope to hear from you!

network marketing is a simple concept but simple does not mean easy. Like in any other business one has to work hard till one achieves financial freedom. The temptation to quit are plenty and seemingly better options are always there to distract you.

I have been involved with network marketing opportunities of several different types of products. I have tried to market Vitamins, Energy Drinks, Home Care Products and the list goes on and on. All but one of those network marketing opportunities have left me with less money but also with more knowledge. I now have a "Working Knowledge" of what works and also what doesn't work. I am currently working the only one that I feel gives me a good chance to achieve my goals. I know better than to expect this to be a "Get Rich Quick" opportunity. To make this work requires ME TO WORK. That is why it is called NetWORK Marketing. Make no mistake, it does require you to work, but it can be so much fun at the same time. If anyone would like to know more about the opportunity I am committed to, you can P.M. me here and I will tell you more. If you would rather use my e-mail the proper address is as follows: beayaich@yahoo.com

Well holding one program or product is far more good than holding so many things because the success ratio is the decider and I find plenty of successful people in the category of holding only one thing in hand. Well I sent a mail to you :D

I was in couple of MLMs which promised mountains but I could never reach any where. But now am more experienced and (like any business requires experience)quite successful.I fully agree with you in everything you said.I see the company, the product, their service, income plan. Then if everything suits me I put my hand into it. We should never join on obligations. Never join the companies which put more conditions to their advantage. I prefer Binary without flush outs. I am into such a wonderful company with honest pay outs. But it is operational only in India. Those from India can have their dreams met in this company.

Hello isloooboy!
You have point out very good details why networking marketing fails or why a person fails in network marketing. A lot of people think that when they join a networking they would become rich over night but it doesn’t work that way. One has to be really serious in doing the business so he would become successful in networking. They don’t just go around and ask someone to join, but they have to find a business partner who would also be serious in networking. I know people who have devoted two years of their time in networking and up to now they are very successful. Down lines or business partners kept pouring in because they put in their heart to do the business and to help other succeed in the business too.
Happy mylotting and happy earning! red_amethyst

Here's another reason why they are failing in network marketing (I have been doing this for a few months with a company I dare not disclose its name.) besides treating it as a hobby or a get rich scheme - their "whys" are weak as peas!
Many turn to network marketing for the money. They want to be the riches family in the block. They want their kids to be the "rich kids" rather than being outcasts because they can't afford to buy things their friends have. They want that dream trip to Walt Disney World they once placed on hold and replaced it with staycations (vacations in or near their hometowns).
But their "whys" need to be stronger. Like a lot of you living in the same country I am (the good old USA), you might be straddled with college debt that keeps on adding on and on and on. You might be threatened by foreclosures. These are few legitimate, strong "whys."
My why in doing a network marketing business is because I'm finding it hard to find work. I graduated high school and college and was trained for a culinary arts job for 2 weeks, but finding work is a pain. It's not just because I as a high-functioning autistic fear I'll bomb a job interview because I'll perseverate on an obsessive topic.
I hate having to answer personality tests in those job applications (with the strongly agree/disagree answers). Try as I might in honestly answering them, I'm unfit for the job.
So I turned to the Virgin Mary (pardon my Catholicism) to pray for me that I'll get out of that rote that would make my family's finances worse, thus I joined that network marketing business. I don't want to be the autistic dependent; I just want to be independent financially. So, she became my "why."
Right now, I'm 3 levels away from my desired position, but still looking for partners. I'm not considering calling it quits, mainly because my "why" has been praying for me.
My advice for those on a network marketing business venture is to find a very, very strong "why." Ask yourself what financial troubles bug you once you started it. Ask yourself what makes you so mad about your job (tolls, boss, etc.). Money alone should not be your "why!"
Like you said, network marketing will not make you rich overnight. It takes much, much, much, much, much more than the want of being and getting rich to do it.

Hi
The success rate is not very high mainly because people think it is easy. The concept is simple and demands hard work and smart work like in any other business . When you succeed in MLM it can be humongous and can make you financially free for life.
I have found out a simple and innovative pdt in the self development and motivation niche and is indeed doing well. If you can pm me you will learn more.
