I completely agree with you about this. A lot of people get away from this notion thinking and hoping that if they acquire a lot of possessions or money they will be happy. Unfortunately many people find this out to late, that what brings the most happy isn't money, or possessions. I'm glad that I'm aware these things and do my best to try and be content and happy with what I've got.

That is great for say "don't do whatever you like but like whatever you do". With me, I feel happy when I feel successful. I don't like failure. Maybe I am not the happiest person but I think I am still happier than someone. That is also make me happy.

I agree happiness does not come from material things because man is full of greediness. If he has a little, he always wants more.If he has more ,he wanted even more. You'll only be happy if you are contented of what you are having and not concern yourself with worldly matters knowing that God knows your needs even before you ask for it.

I saw a show once on a few people that won large sums of money with a ticket. One in particular showed how it made her feel where it was good she had more choices where money was concerned and she could do the things she could not do before. It did not make her happier. Her family was the most important thing to her and some things got better but other problems were still there. Happiness is always in our hearts she said.

I agree. I think happiness really comes from with in. It is a choice and it takes firm decision. The past few months, I was so depressed. I didn't know how to be happy. I went to parties almost everyday, but nothing seemed to make me feel happy. at the end of the day, i still felt sad and depressed. Nobody could help me get out my loneliness until the time came when i got tired and sick of being lonely. i prayed to GOD and meditated. it was a moment of enlightenment that finally i decided and chose to be happy. instead of waiting for others to help me and lift me up, i did it myself. I started to reach out and help others. i began spending more time with happy people and got inspired. from then on, i realized that happiness really comes within myself and that it is is for you to make other people happy when you are happy.
