Good day fellow mylotters, I am quite confused to some situations that my neighhor is telling me. That, my neighbor was so mad to some airport officers since she was not able to leave for abroad. Although she have the complete papers and visa for her trip, still, the airport officers told her that they cannot allow her to leave. My neighbor asked the reason as to why they stopped her, but, the airport officers cannot tell exactly the grounds. So she just end up in going back home again along with her baggage. Oh my, what is happening to our system in the airport. Why such situation is happening, that, although a complete papers and visa was established, they are not allowing the person to leave. And not only that, they cannot tell exactly the grounds why they are hindering the said departure.

Your neighbor has every right to ask why she wasn't allowed to proceed with her flight. She better go back to the airport minus her baggage and ask the higher officials about it.

A pleasant day Simplyd, I have told to my neighbor that, since, she has the booking and flight schedule for that day, so she must go on. Besides, the airport officers cannot tell the truth behind why they are hindering the flight.

So, the more that she should insist in knowing what's hindering their flight.

What's your neighbor's reason for leaving the country,is it for business, tourism, work, treatment or immigration? Is she the only one who was not allowed for the flight?Maybe she misses an important document necessary for that specific trip.Other reasons can be cancellation of flight,or if she's late for her flight. She should have ask any other personnels or superiors in the airport why she is not allowed to travel.

But why they cannot provide your neighbor the grounds for not allowing her to leave the country? If all her papers are legal and they cannot give her definite answers she has all the right to seek legal advice. this is really bad and our airport officers must know their rules.

That's so impossible I mean strange... Your airport officials cannot tell you the exact reason why your neighbor cannot leave the country. Have you tried to consult higher officials in this airport? If they really cannot tell you the reason, then you should file a proper complaint against the airport.

Sadly, this kind of system has been happening for the last 4 years in the Philippines. And it even became more strict since 2010. I have heard a lot of stories like that and even my friends who are returning as a tourist visa in another country with full documents with her have been turned down 3 times and was asked a lot of other documents to provide. When she already gave them everything they have asked for she was still rejected and finally knew the real reason why she can't leave. Well, she has to pay them 12 thousand pesos to let her leave. Another friend of mine has the same situation and pay them 18 thousand pesos. And told her that if there is any friends of her who are leaving the country holding a visit visa, then the cost will be increased to 20 thousand pesos. This is really a bad system that the government has to investigate. It was stopped in 2006 but now it became worst. Anyway, what's your friend's visa and which country is she going? If she has an employment visa she won't have to undergo such trouble.. my brother left today holding an employment visa and have never even encountered such annoyance.

Poor neighbor. It does not make any sense! She should be able to leave. But, (I am sorry if it is insulting) she should also ask for NBI whether she is banned or not. If not, then there is no more reason for the officer to reject her. I am not really understand the system in your country. But in common sense, there is no more reason.

That doesn't make any sense. The immigration officials have no right to not let your neighbor go as long as her travel docs are valid. Maybe her travel papers were not complete. There are certain docs that are required by immigration officials at the airport regardless of having a valid passport and visa. Years ago when I travelled pregnant, I was required to have some signed letter from my doctor stating that I was safe to travel. Without that letter I wouldn't have allowed to fly. I also know for a fact that a divorced parent can't take a child out of the country without the approval letter of the other parent. These are just examples of requirements needed together with a traveler's passport and visa. One other thing is if the passenger has a legal case on hold at the country of origin. Maybe your neighbor just didn't want to discuss the reasons why but it's really wrong and strange of the immigration at the airport to just not let any traveler leave the country without telling the reasons why.
