Or did I?
Wait, I’m confused now!
The pop-up said:
“Congratulations!
You are today’s Iphone 4 winner!
Click on the “Yes” button below to try to win before time runs out.”
But ... but ... I thought I was today’s winner and yet I have to try to win the Iphone 4?
The internet can very deceiving.

Hey, little mouse. So glad to see you. Where have you been all this time?
I guess nobody would win anything in the end. So, it would really be a waste of their time if those people really fell for it. And hopefully they are not that dumb to give out all their personal details or maybe ... pay something just to get nothing.

I should have read the whole discussion to find out if you came to a conclusion. But I'm too tired now after 14 hours at work yesterday and 6 hours at work today (even if it's Saturday).
So I ask you, hoping that you won't mind to write again the answer: did you win that gadget or no?

Haha yea I used to believe in those things but luckily they never did anything to steal from me. When I first started using the internet, I had come up with the pop up that stated (can't remember) if it was either a product or money and I needed to send my email to them. So when I did that, they never send me nothing but luckily I didn't lose anything either. So it was almost like a lesson that those pop ups are just scams and never real.

Wait, I must be stupid....what does spamming mean? I mean I now I'm hearing spamming is really bad. I thought it was just emails from people who says you won a $1,000,000 or $500 gift card and all these things. What does it mean now...If its more than that, I don't know what it really means.

@akp:
Iphone 6 - that is future palnning and creating a market as i saw the Iphone 5 Advert and there are many things they have promised - I am quite sure many of these will not appear on 5. So I thought the marketing for 6 must start now

Yes indeed very deceiving. They should avid those type of promotions or else people will start thinking that they are scammers or plain liars. I've had my share of those FREEBIES that turned out to be nothings plus it makes you work a lot and it's very tedious. GEEZ!

Totally a scam!
These pops up every now and then. A friend's friend even believed he won a brand new car to be sent to him once he sent some money. And he did sent money even after warning him not to because it's clearly a scam. He never received any car

Jlyn10, I am not sure how much in total he had sent. He was not asked money only once, he even made calls to the scammers... and I guess he had not told much of these details to my friend. I have actually printed out around 5 pages for my friend to give him, I researched those info on the internet for her to warn him. The print out clearly shows and explain it is a scam and even the winning number is the same as his winning number. So I don't know why he still believed on that scam. He even accused my friend that she was maybe jealous that he won something.
Dupremo, I also hope my friend's friend learned a lesson from it, we shouldn't just trust someone or something, especially we did not join in any promos or when it just pop-up telling you that you win for not doing anything.

Agreed, but I obviously did not believe what I saw there.
If I have had really won an iPhone, they could just send it to me but instead they want me to try and win that iPhone.
Maybe they should have said "You have been picked to win an iPhone 4" instead, ya. Then it would not be so deceiving.

hi Jlyn10- oh yes very deceiving. I got one where it said I have won a large screen Television for 32 dollars so try and win it you have to chose two of these on this page, three of these
etc. and what it boiled down to was if I used my credit card
to purchase one of the choices on each page then I would win
the32 dollar big screen television. When You total everything up
you would have spent almost that much on stuff you did not want
to get the 32 dollar television so it would cost almost a hundred
dollars altogether. so no thanks what a crock.

Yes indeed! Internet is very deceiving. There are a lot of spams nowadays and so we must not believe in everything. Sometimes, they still require us to pay in order for us to get the prize.

Deceiving indeed. Maybe they do this to catch people's attention, because this is eye-catching people will easily jump into this follow whatever instructions there is just to have the displayed item. We should be cautious on these kind of rackets because it's either from the legitimate company or scam only to get your informations so hackers can easily do their modus or bad things using the net.
