Tell which is your favourite writer and your favourite book? My favourite author is Stephen King, i started reading his book two years ago, but i don`t have a lot of free time to read. For now my favourite books from this author are three the green mile (a lot better then the movie, althoug the movie was really good too), night shift (digest with 19 stories ) and the last one is The long walk. This three book are amazing for me and i recommend to everyone that like horror and mystery books to read them.

I don`t know why but i just don`t like Harry Potter at all, two of my best friends love this books and have told me about million times to read them, but i have just started the first one, didn`t like it and stop readding them. I also like you like the historical books for the world wars, for the second world war is more interesting.

My favorite author is john grisham, I started reading his books in college when one of my professors made us read The Street Lawyer. I have since read all of his books. The Last Juror is by far my favorite. I was initially excited when they started making some of his books into movies like the firm, pelican brief, runaway jury and a few others. I soon found it to be a case of the movie can not even come close to comparing to the book. I read the books first and the movies always seemed sub par after that.

I have also heard good things about John Grishams books and maybe someday i will read some of them. I have watched the firm and i liked it a lot, but i haven`t read the book. I also like you think that it`s difficult to do the movie such as good as the book and almost all the time maybe it`s impossible for me it was like that with The green mile. The book was great really interestin, but the movie wasn`t such as good, i don`t say that the movie wasn`t good, just not as good as the book.

You are right curmont. I think the movie adaptations were consistently good, none I didn't like so far, but his books are still better. I want The Broker to be made into a movie as I like the setting and the way he wrote it.

I read various books, so I don't have a favorite author. Authors usually has their ups and downs in writing, so you may find that one book is better or worse than the others. If you mean favorite books, I have tons of them

I am with you on my favorite author being Stephen King. There have been plenty of books that I've loved in the past but Stephen king is one of the only authors that I've loved every story and every book I read by him. I bought so many of his books but I haven't read even close to as many as I want to. I always pick them up but I've been having a hard time focusing on reading in the past year or so. Maybe I have ADD lol who knows. I also love the Monk books, written by Lee Goldberg, I think there just as good as the show, if not better. He would also be one of my top favorites.

If you want to read a truly outstanding novel, read "Bird Nest" by Jack Waggoner (Dorrance Publishing, 2009). It is about the aftermath of a nuclear explosion. It is the best written, and the most exciting book I have ever read. I am very happy that there is an author in modern times who demonstrates so much skill in writing.

Dean Koontz is my all time favorite writer. I love him! I cannot imagine where he gets all his great ideas from.. and the good guys aLways win in the end, usually with a little romance and idealism thrown in.. love it.. plus some of his books warn about science abuses of the future!

I have a collection of authors I particularly like to read - Ed McBain, Joy Fielding, Sue Grafton, Andrew M. Greeley, Lawrence Sanders, Catherine Coulter... there are more but I have found recently that trying out different authors can make for a pleasant change in reading. In our town we have an annual event where 4 authors partake in a panel discussion, sell their books and then meet guests and sign books. This is how I learned to read other authors. Also I have won a lot of books lately by partaking in online contests. I win books I've never even heard of and then I want to read more by that author. I realized that stepping outside your reading comfort zone can be very beneficial.

My favorite writer was Nora Roberts. She writes really good romance novels. I think now though my favorite is Nicolas Sparks. I've read a few of his books and they really pull you in so you feel like you are in the story. I think reading the last song was the first time I cried reading a book. I also really liked the Twilight books. I'm not sure if it was just because I've always liked vampire stories, but it just seems like I couldn't put the book down. I read the second book in two days!

I don't have a favorite author, but a genre I prefer over others. I also love to write and have written a novel, (unpublished at this time) and taking a Creative Writing class to improve my skills so I will feel comfortable submitting my work to an agent.
The reason I brought up my class is our textbook was written by none other than Mr. King himself..And regardless if one is a fan of King's, if one is a writer this book is excellent. I learned so much from him, I can't wait until I have the time to revise my story again..:D

I don't like horror, and the only Stephen King book I've read is Firestarter, which had some horror elements, but is really science fiction.
I LIKE science fiction.
I can't say I have 1 favorite writer. I love Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Orson Scott Card, and Robert J. Sawyer.

I enjoy reading novels by different authors. I keep a collection of classics, and read them whenever I have the spare time. They are all very enjoyable in different ways. One of my favorite authors is Leo Tolstoy, and I like "Anna Karinina" very much.
