I think many people have tried to create blogs or websites, build a website or blog is simple but to make it popular or build traffic usually frustrate the best of us. I am wondering if the journey to create a successful site be a difficult and lonely one. Most of the time when we are faced with some issue, where have not one to turn too. I want to create a support group for all those would are interested in creating a website or building traffic for their sites and articles and for those would had enjoyed success share some tips with us. I think with this support group would be benefit newbies a lot but it would also allow some season owners bring their skills to another level.

I already have one website where I used a free web hosting service and you get to choose the name you want but it kinda goes under their domain and I want to take my next website to the next level. I want to use my own web development software but I don't know where to start. I used their web building software before and it made it simple with templates and easy to use tools. I know how to use image editors and word processors so editing pictures, changing font, adding text boxes and manipulating the whole look of the page is not new to me but I am having a hard time finding a web site development program that I can understand. I have thought about getting Dreamweaver but I heard it is hard to learn. I downloaded a free program called NVU from here: http://net2.com/nvu/ but I haven't had time to really work with it yet. It does seem to have a really good help and tip section to help you get started but I am unsure yet and don't want to put a lot of time in learning a new software until I am sure I have the right one. I also want to get my own domain name and from what I understand you have to buy one that is not already taken. You see if I get my own domain name like eric.com then the search engines will find it easier then if I am under someone else like eric.hpage.com I need to know the best site to get hosting from too. There are so many and a lot of them are like only $5.00 a month and less even but I don't know where to go for a really legit one. I have heard that godaddy.com is a good place to start but I don't know. What kind of information have you come up with yet? I can't even find any sites with much in the way of free content either. I was browsing for some templates to start with and most sites want to charge you for them let alone any pictures or anything else like counters to keep track of your traffic and an email section for the website. Have you found any resources like these yet?

I registered at your website so we can talk easier. It doesn't take a lot of money for a web host. You can find a good one for five or ten dollars a month I just thought you might know a good one before I had to research a lot of them. You also have to buy a domain name but that is a one time fee for around twenty dollars. The real money is in the software you use. The free stuff will only let you do so much and then you will find that you really need a professional web editor and they are expensive, I really want adobe dreamweaver but I think it is around a couple hundred dollars and I can't afford that right now so I am looking for something to make do until I can. I can use an image editor to do the graphic work and then import it into the web editor for now but it takes time to learn each new software program. I am actually taking college classes online right now for website development but I am only in my second semester so far. I can help you with a lot of technical support if you need it.

I agree with the first responder. It shouldn't, but it sometimes is. That is a brilliant idea of yours! I have just started blogging recently and I look forward for more tips. I did blog in the past, but I didn't enjoy it because the subject isn't my interest. Now I blog about things that I care about and guess what, I'm passionate and motivated. I think it's important to pick the subject that interest you.

Remeshchow, Even with the best content might not get you noticed, because there are so many site online that your site might be missed by the thousands of eyeballs. That is why you need to do things to put your site in front of the eyeballs and then the content would get them back.

I agree, it's lonely and difficult when we are starting our own website. It applies to other matters in life too. IF we are able to find people with the same interest, it would be great, because that where we exchange ideas, help each other out. I'm in for your support group. In real life, friends are not into online earning, so that makes it even more difficult. While with a support group online, it's different because we are all here for the same purpose, just that we have no place to gather for discussions.

Creating my own website was fun because my teacher is good.He gifted me an e-book which made me understand the kind of guy he is and I value the gift. In gratitude I am offering the same gift to anyone who is interested in creating a website. You don't have to be lonely because there are plenty of people who want to establish themselves on line, so one needs to find the right forum where one can interact, learn and share what we are doing on line. Thanks for the friendship request.

That's a good idea. I know how lonely it is there. Designing, building and launching - difficult but a pleasant journey. But the most difficult part is getting the traffic. You try everything on earth and then end up deserted and heart broken. It's been a lonely affair for me as well. I think a support group is a good idea. It would no doubt render emotional support to many like me.

I have been thinking about having my own website, and promote online business. Yes, setting up a website is not so difficult. There are programs on the internet which provide website building services. But, to get visitors and potential customers to the site is not that easy.

a pleasant day iwrite, with regard to your main topic discussion, building a website now a days is not that difficult. as there are a lot of sites offering facilities and special functions to be use in building and going thru the process. hence, it is not also lonely, though, it is true that you must build a traffic in order that your website be known and visited by many. in addition, you must also know how to write and produce long articles as this is one of the great way how you will earn much thru the website that you are creating. and with this one, creating a good and long articles really requires your patience and hardwork. as after all of this, passive income will just flow on your way.

Actually I'm doing my own website. But it is a website builder. LOL! I am trying to make money from a website as well as getting traffic on it. All about making websites is it does take time. Go find some free website builders or something. I don't find being lonely on making a website. I am actually having fun even if its time consuming or a bit difficult. I think you can use a website builder to make your website and customize it. Also just to let you know after you done making website, it doesn't just go on search engine right a way. It will take awhile for the search engines to crawl your site. Fairly new sites are probably hard to go on search engine right away.

This is very commendable task and I will join this group. I am a blogger and i want to share and learn at the same time things about blogging. Although I am not that seasoned blogger I think I have a two or more things to offer related to the difficulties of maintaining a blog. I hope you get started soon.

Well EdnaReyes, I had just started it and the group is still small. I hope to grow to about 20 to 30 members to start with and slowly build up, just to keep it manageable . I also hope to select a few moderators to help as I do not want good intentions to be abused.

My friend, I think creating a blog or website is not at all a big issue now a days. But, before creating a website (or blog) one must give a thorough ground work, on what is the purpose, product or service, target audience, last but not least, if the intention is to make money, by selling, then payment gateway is important. If referral or affiliate type of site, we must get a good software to track the work / joining etc. In my view, ONLINE thing is not a cake walk and the present day situation, in my view, [please note - in my view] OFFLINE BUSINESS is much more easy.

I know it would not be easy and I never have that illusion that it would, I just think it would be easiest if we work together to benefit from it. I think it would be great.
