Anyone watching Survivor anymore?

Anyone? I am not much. I watched the first episode, missed the next two and saw the next two. It has changed so much from what it used to be...about surviving. Now it is just bickering and making alliances. Last week was interesting as Ozzy asked to be voted out so he could go to Redemption Island and hopefully win against the woman that was there from the other team, so that the merge would be more of his team than the opposing team...okay, kind of interesting, but what if he looses or what if the merge doesn't come this time, and one of his own team members is voted off and he has to play against Ozzy? Ozzy's theory is caput! Redemp Island is okay, but not so exciting watching two battle it out as it is to watch the whole team or 6 or 7 indivdually. And it took away one challenge, now one challenge is for reward and immunity. I liked the challenges best. Anyone have anything better to say about the show? I am just not that excited about it anymore like I used to be.

I still watch, I guess because despite of the show going down hill, I still love the show, I had been watching survivor ever since I was 13 years old and its like my most favorite show in existence, so I dont need to defend it since I know you already loathe it. Though I do admit I want the season end already cos next season is makes me exited,I knowmen vs. women season had been twice but I actually love men vs. women season cos female players are more aggressive in a tribe of women. Back to the current season, I dont care who the best player is, I just want someone who is not coach or ozzy to win. I rooted for Mikayla and Cristine, sadly Mikayla is gone because that creep Brandon wants to vote her off cos he thinks he is seducing her. Damn Christine should beat Ozzy.. Returning players should stay in allstar seasons, I'm glad next season is a regular season. "sleeping with the enemy twist" sounds awesome cos I love cross tribal alliances. 2 tribes living in the same Island from the get go is like one of the suggestions I emailed to CBS 6 years ago. I'm not taking credit of the idea but I'm happy someone from CBS creative used it. I'm reading spoilers to know the end game of the current season but I cant get any cos the spoiler source makes it episode per episode. How I wish I was a CBS Creative, as a fan of the show since its humble beginnings, I'll do everything to save the show that I loved for like almost 11 years. Though the show is jumping the shark,I';m still sharing my ideas to CBS and survivor communities,

I don't loathe it.. I like it, it is just getting boring. All they show is the bickering and arguing and the back stabbing of forming alliances. I"ve watched since the beginning too. First 6-8 were great. I wish they'd stop bringing previous players back. I wish they'd show more of what they do all day instead of just argue and bicker. I wish they'd go back to Reward Challenge and an Immunity Challenge. The hidden Idols are getting easier and easier to find..maybe a change to that. They did on women vs. men before and that was good! nice twist. Old vs. young was good to a point. I think my whole problem is that all they show, all the interviews are about...is bickering and arguing and choosing alliances. I KNOW there is more to Survivor than that!

I miss it to when it was about survival. Rationing the rice, catching fish, building the shelters and then accomodating the weather. I don't mind that they repeat locations as I most of the time don't notice the difference. And yeah...the rewards are to much food prepared...give the bait and tackle or things for them to make their own food from, blankets and the like. It is just to much (or maybe that is cause that is all they show) about alliances and who likes who and general tribal ruckus! They never show how the live on the island with next to nothing, what they do all day, where they gain strength and things like that.

I miss the time when survivor is more of a social experiment than a game, I miss the times when its about survival but now they got bombarded with so much food rewards. I dont mind returning players that much but I loathe recycled locations. I miss the times when the theme of the season is the location and not the twist.

I've also watched Survivor since its beginning. I agree that it is losing some of the elements that made it special in the first place. I think they need to give both Redemption Island and the hidden idols a break for a few seasons. If they really want to try something new then at the merge they should have the two teams merge only in the sense that they live together. But the teams would still be seperate and the losing team at challenges would have to vote off one of its members. Jury membership and the voting of the winner etc. would all be the same.

Yeah, they need to do something. Both are boring now! How about two people being voted off...one from each tribe and then those two duel it out and one returns and one leaves. Or maybe like you say...merge for living reasons, but still team against team... and maybe then do RI or the Idol. I wish they'd go back to 2 challenges...reward and immunity. I forgot about jury...that should be coming up next episode or so...wonder if Cochran will be the first on the jury? This time isn't going to be so good tho....even merged...they are still playing tribe against tribe...so most likely the jury will be tribe against tribe! Oh well..guess we'll see. Tomorrow should be a hoot of a show with all the team mad at Cochran for flipping on them!

I wasn't for any of the final three either. I don't think any of those three "earned" to even be in the final three! Sofie just slid in on Coach's coat tails and they only voted for her as she was the least of the three evils. I am not looking forward to next season...both teams living together. Don't think that is going to be a good idea. I wonder if they are doing that due to budget or the country not wanting them to "mess" up two areas....

I saw a preview of the next Survivor and they're actually going to do something similar to what I suggested above about having the two teams live together except they are going to do it from the beginning. Kind of cool. I dont know about anyone else but I didnt care who won this season. Out of the top 3, I preferred Coach but really didnt like any of them. I wanted Ozzy to win so it was too bad that he choked on the final challenge. I dont think this season was the best we've seen him but he was better than the top three.

I still watch. But I have to admit, the bringing back the stars of previous matches, is making me a little ill. It's a game for a lot of money. Redemption Island is a good thing. But get rid of the 'stars'.

I agree.... I am tired of seeing the same ones over and over. I mean, come on...of all the previous players....why the same ones all the time? At least give the others a second chance. THey are missing that the previous ones were good in their first game cause they were new. Now that they know "how to play"...they just aren't as good or evil or whatever, as they were the first time around. Remember Johnny Fairplay? He was a hoot his first time around, but then that last time he came back...not only was he voted out quickly, but he just wasn't the hoot he was the first time that made me want to watch every week!

I agree with you and believe that if they do not do something soon it will either go off the air or at the very least have to move to one of the smaller networks. And, personally I am sick of seeing the same people on season after season--how many times are we going to have to see "Coach"? I know people love to hate him and all, but really. I also agree with you about the challenges-that has always been my favorite part of the show. I used to make plans to watch every Thursday night, now if I miss a Wednesday night episode I don't even really care. I just figure I can look to see who is on Redemption Island and know all I missed is a bunch of "plotting" to put him/her there. Too bad, it was a great show!

Same here. How many times do we have to watch these same people? I honestly don't think that everyone likes them that much! I mean, once, okay, twice, but now three times? Russell got voted off really quick because no one liked him...so it can go either way, but still...just give us a new person to cheer for or hate! They need to back off on the interviews about who they are voteing for or alliance with and have them tell about how things are there and how theya re getting along etc. Make an alliance a surprise at Tribal council! These days...Tribal council is the only exciting place to be...forget the show just tune in to the last 15 minutes! They need to go back to 2 challenges, forget redemption island...(nice for a time or two but old now) and stop bring back previous players and tell us more about how they make it through the 39 days....minus the arguing and bickering!!! I would hate to see the show go!

I still follow the show religiously, you're right though it lost its appeal because of the automatic alliances the competitors do.About Ozzy I thought that it's kind a stupid on his part to do such move with the uncertainty of the merge it could very well backfired on him, like what happened last time he competed years ago he got blindsided and wasn't able to use the immunity idol. Viewership had been declining season after season and I won't be surprised if CBS will continue to air it.they should do some drastic changes for it to attract more viewers.I have some Idea but I don't think it will ever be Implemented. why don't they change the dynamics of the game ,like have those 16 castaways to live alone,no interactions with others whatsoever, individual challenges and rewards then at the council they'll just vote whoever they want to get rid of....no one ever get blindsided,no hurt feelings,no alliances,no backstabbing. What do you think? It'll be more interesting and the element of surprise not knowing who'll get voted off the island.

Definately lost its appeal. I don't have a problem with them together in tribes as they are, but can we please see something OTHER than then arguing and bickering and whining about aliances? I mean, what do they do all day? And who's in what alliance would be a good thing to surprise the viewers with. Show them fishing or gathering wood or making the shelters etc. We see nothing of them working to get along as a tribe.. only as 16 people bickering! THey'd better do something!

I still do! I think Ozzy's plan to go to Redemption Island is nuts. First off, all challenges at RI are designed to be fair to everyone that even the most athletic or agile castaways are not guaranteed to win. So, what makes him think that he could easily beat Christine if, what 5, before him hasn't been able to do so? And I think it was dumber to try and get christine out because she could be a potential addition to their numbers come merge time. They could use Christine and her bitterness against Opolu to gain advantage. Wow, Ozzy seems like this is his first time to play!

I got his theory...but to many things can happen to mess up his theory. What if he wins...The point was to keep him to return to the tribe so they have all their own tribe at the merge and one more than the other tribe. Okay, but what if he wins Christine? And the next one voted out...what if his tribe looses and they vote off someone, anyone? Now they are a person short regardless of who wins! And of course if that other person wins, or Christine wins...foiled again! No, I think it was a bad move on his part. I get he is trying to strategize and all but putting himself in such jeopardy was a bad move. And to give up the immunity idol...assuming someone will give it back? Will be interesting to see how it plays out

I definitely, definitely agree with you on that one. By doing this, he has given Cochran so much power in the game. An evil side of me is wishing this bold plan will backfire on him, esp since he's gotten a bit cocky in this game. Even Coach is outplaying him!

Its also dumb to not vote off Cochran, Tribaloutcast always flips at the merge, Ozzy should have let cochran go to redemption and let Christine Beat him. I think getting rid of Christine is a bad move for Ozzy.

I don't remember the last time i watched it. Since our version of survivor: the timeslot is so late, i m not up anymore when it airs. But when we have reruns, i watch it.. since it still fun to watch. I love the games.
