The only place where good people and bad people are separated is in after life, as long as we live on earth, good people and bad people are mixed together. Sometimes people next door are bad people and we didn't even notice it.

Regarding the topic, I don’t know how the parents of that girl send her out alone, as the place is not safe. May be it is her bad fate; she could not reach her home before the sun sets. I agree, no place is safe for women, as I am reading rape cases on everyday basis in the news paper. I really don’t know who is to blame?

When a girl is not safe even at home where she is sometimes abused by family members there is no way a girl could be safe outside the house. The world is getting very dangerous and there seems to be nothing one could do about it. Each girl has to learn self defence so that she can defend herself.

That is a very sad story. I know a perswon very near to me that when was going from the english institute was raped for two men, who didn't have compassion and treated her like garbage. Is so sad that in the world exist people as bad, and the worst is that they can be near s and we don't know who they are. Only God can protect us.

Here in UK many places are safe for lone females, in fact, statistically men are in more danger all the best urban

I almost totally agree with you. Like what the first user said, even sometimes at home kids aren't safe.. it's so unfortunate. Sure, there are some things we can do to prevent this (learn self-defense, etc.) but we can't 100% eliminate inevitable instances.. Have you heard about the child who got ran over by a truck in China? I wish there weren't criminals, people like them..

No, I don't agree with you. Being a girl who's coming back home alone doesn't necessarily mean that you will be attacked. Some countries are very dangerous for anyone who's alone in the street, regardless of the gender, while some other countries aren't dangerous at all, alone or not, night or day. In case of being in a dangerous country it's important not to pretend being brave and being cautious, so nothing bad will happen to you, of course.

This is really a scary news. when we read like this news, we feel so sad, just the laws have to make very strong. Those who are doing rapes, they have to feel scary about the laws, that much powerful laws has to come in to play. There should be serious penalty in the courts for this type of incidents.

Oh this is very sad to read and yes it is not safe for girls/women to enter areas especially if they have not been there on their own. We should always be cautious as we have no idea what can happen. So if it is a new place we are going for the first time we really need to pair up with someone as it can be dangerous. Sad thought that so many crimes are occurring this day and age, but really no one male and or female is safe from any dubious crimes.

I think sentences for rapes should be more severe. If the law would be stronger and harsher next time criminal would think twice before they do such horrible thing. They should be punished.I don't know if you agree with me but for rape they should receive life sentence. Never see the sun again. Like this unhappy girl. She would always be scared. Even if she was alone they have no right to do this. No one has.

it is a terrible story, but the problem is that a 16 year old girl should be able to wait at a bus stop, even when its dark, in safety. its interesting to read that people are now pressurising the police and authorities to make this bus stop area safer, it is that sort of pressure that changes things. and also blaming the men and not the girl is important, surekharathi, you are right that the men are wicked criminals. in the uk we still have a habit of blaming the young girl for being out at night when the people we should blame are those who commit the crime. well done for standing up for her, thats what we women have to do!
