Mylot is a wonderful site, we have members from all parts of the globe, they belong to different age, religion and nationality; mylot is a home and we are family members; here we share our knowledge, feelings etc; many times we get answer to our problems . All my friends and well-wishers here know about my health issues which are nothing but side effects of the slow killer disease ‘DIABETES’. I was unable to sleep since last several nights. My son took me to VSS Medical College hospital in Burla, 16 kilometers from my home. One specialist in Medicine and another specialist of Skin diseases examined me; the later said ‘You don’t have scabies’, as told by a doctor in my city. He said your skin looks dry, apply Aloevera direct or cream made from this, I bought one jar of this by a reputed company. This I am applying all over body. I feel relived now, I took medicine for scabies, fungal infection unnecessarily and the itching all over body persisted. The doctors are playing with our life as I said in the discussion. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2591293.aspx?p=0 Next the specialist in Medicine examined, he said this is due to diabetes only; he made me walk, jump etc; he has advised 3 medicines to stop itching, these are for one week. He also advised 4 medicines for peripheral diabetes neuropathy, these are to be taken for rest of life, as preventive for other side effects of diabetes. I am attaching here with the front page of his prescription, wish mylot should allow us to attach more than one photo. Today is the 3rd day, my itching is less, manageable. He has advised to get a whole body CT scan after 2 weeks. Is there any doctor here in mylot, I need his /her advice through private message. Please share your views and comment on this story of mine. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . 30/10/2011

I'm glad your itching is much better now Professor. It's awful to have that bodily itching. I have had it too, but it was due to my kidneys not functioning properly. It was awful.. makes you feel like your skin is crawling. That's awful that you were treated for scabies and stuff, when that wasn't your problem. I'm glad you are getting the help you need now. Love you much! PQ

Okay, you confirmed what I remembered about scabies, and in the US, they use Lindane, a poison, in a topical application. That cannot be good for the liver. Also many of the oral antifungals are hard on the internal organs.

The dr who treated for scabies is also from govt hospital of my city, because they don't treat properly; i met him in his home, paid him 200 rupees as fee. When i told him it is not scabies, he said i am the dr not you.

Hello Because the itching did not stop, so i was admitted in a superspeciality hospital, they did more than 38 tests, said it was not scabies at all, the itching was due to terminal neuropathy, so i was advised insulin shots instead of oral tablets.

To diagnose scabies they need to take a sample and look under a microscope, I think. I thought it was a parasite not a fungus. I am glad that you are getting some help and that you are seeing some good doctors.

Yeah, scabies is a parasite that burrows into the skin... I think he was being treated for that and for a fungus.. like they were just treating the symptom with whatever they thought it could be.. like guessing... that is my guess. I'm glad he is getting the help he needs now.

Hi Professor, I am of course not doctor, but on reading your discussion wanted to wish you all the best.I hope that you are feeling better.I feel that doctors are there to help us and try to do their best , though sometimes they may have to try out different medicines after seeing that they do not give the expected results. This can happen since each individual is different and in some cases where there are complaints like blood sugar etc, the medicines may aggravate the situation...Please do take care and I am sure that you will be better in a few days...

Hello PaPa! Oh finally there is some relief after so many attempts and I am very glad something is finally giving you some relief. I glad you are persistent and not allowing this to take it's course and opting to fighting the all to end all. I hope that now this path leads to complete recovery as I am sure it has been so stressful to continue to deal with it.

Wish your speedy recovery. It is the irony of our fate that some times we had to treat wrongly. I hope regular treatment and organic food supplements will help you to keep well in the coming days.
