I think it's: SAW.
Not because the movies are so scary but the fact I understand why it happens. Because it is justice in my eyes, because movies like this make it easier to change into such a person as well.

the scariest movie i have ever watched is silence of the lamb. its scary for me because its not only visual but psychological. it allows the movie goer to think what is going to happen next and then suddenly the unexpected happens. it plays with the mind and the emotions and the visual special effects are also very stunning. its really a thriller from beginning up to the end of the movie. i really do not appreciate horror or scary movies but this movie ...the silence of the lamb ... nailed me to my seat and watched from beginning to end.

I watched it too and found it interesting, have you watched the rest of the franchise too? the two sequels I think, Hannibal and Red Dragon, Hannibal is better than Red Dragon but the three are very interesting movies.. These movies will definitely psyche you out! Dr. Hannibal Lector is very creepy..

i am not very into scary movies with lots of bloody scenes and violence but i am going to try and search for these two movies that you recommended. i can only tolerate psychological thrillers and the creepy Dr. Hannibal Lector. i wouldn't be able to eat a single food for days if i watch violent movies with lots of bloody and gory scenes. thanks for recommending these two movies ...ill watch these for sure!!!

I really recommend you to watch these two movies because they are related to Silence of the lambs movie, not really the sequel, but there is really a relation between the character specially Dr. Hannibal. When you watch Hannibal movie, the 2nd movie, I'm sure you wouldn't be able to eat much as well.
Hope you enjoy the movies. :)

Asian specially Japanese horror movies are good, not because of the effects I think, the western people are better in that area I think. For me it's the simplicity of the movie that makes it really scary. The way they create the scenes, its so simple, not overated. Its simple yet so effective. Take the ring for example, they just used a creepy girl in white with hair on her face with a creepy look, yet, she is really really scary.

Oh Shutter is really scary. I think Asians are the best horror movie makers. Aside from the outstanding special effects and cosmetics, the plot is also one of a kind. They do not recycle. They keep on thinking other ways of giving the creeps to people.

Wow! You watched quite a few there, especially the most popular Hollywood ones. I reckon the Hollywood films now aren't that good, the plots are pretty cliche and the horror is just not as scary as they use to be. I don't really do for the whole ghost horror movies because they tend to scare me more! I found Donnie Darko kinda freaky even though it's not a horror film, it's pretty thrilling and really creepy. I also have seen Hills have Eyes, quite a gory and disgusting movie. Pretty scary and really inhumane, really gets you at the edge of your seat if you're into zombie looking people. I watched The Tunnel which was a documentary and I got scared by it because I thought it was real and it occurred in a nearby train station in my city! But it was fake.

I would consider HOSTEL was not the scariest I have seen, might not be for some. But I find it really scary and gruesome movie to watch. I even find it hard to sleep after watching it. I watched it on my laptop late in the evening and all the lights are turned off. I was so into the movie with my headset on my ears so every breathing and creepy sound was very clear it scares me. My roommate said the next day she thought I was dreaming something scary coz she was hearing me. But since it was dark she hadn't tried to check me.
Hostel part 2 isn't as scary as the first one. It's expected and nothing's new in that.

The scariest horror movie I have seen is the Audition. It starts of as something like a romantic comedy and suddenly becomes very scary and nightmarish. I recommend it to all horror fans. Also the Human centipede is indeed a very disturbing movie. Not for the weak hearted.

I have watched Omen and the exorcist. I do not like scary movies at all. But since I did not have any other movies, I accompanied my brother and watched these movies. I liked those movies.
I see to it that I do not scream in front of my family. Else, I will be mocked to the core!

I have another one in my arsenal but its not really about paranormal creatures. It's more of a thriller psycho kind of movie. Have you watched Human Centipede? It is the most disturbing movie I have ever seen! It's about this German psycho doctor/surgeon that kidnapped three foreigners and sewn them (butt to mouth) with each other to for a centipede. He then tries to teach them tricks like fetch. Try watching it, it's creepy and disturbing. You would see yourself gripping the sides of your seat swear.

Human Centipede? Is that really a movie,, that movie plot as you have described is so morbid I don't think I can watch it.. I might not be able to sleep for months if I am going to watch that movie. But I'll tell that to my friends, see if they will be interested on watching it. Thanks!
