Hi Mylotters!
In shops there is now iPhone 4 and a lot of people bought it. I never understood why this iPhone is so popular. Which are the features the differenciate an iPhone from the other cell phones? Which are other NO Apple product with similar features?
Maybe I'm wrong but I think iPhone are so famous only for the brand.

Well, for starters, iPhone was the first one on the market. Apple created this technology and everyone else followed suit. Also, remember, others, knock offs, or just imitations, claim to do more then the iPhone, but in reality they do not. They maybe okay for some people but it will never be compatible with all the apps from Apple. I have had iPhones since they cam out and let me tell you that they are extraordinary machines. I have never used a phone or a product like it before. Apple is way ahead of all it's competition.

I agree that a lot of applications are only for iPhone, but I read in some forums that for other phones with Android as example there are a lot of free applications more than the ones of Apple. I agree too that iPhone had been the first one on the market, but I don't know if now distance between iPhone and the others is so high. It seems to me that now people think that it's the first one so it's the best one buying only the brand.
Thanks for sharing your opinion!

I don't see it that way. I know there are other phones on the market like iPhone. Some people have a strange mindset. If they really dig deep into comparing, they will find that the iPhone is light years ahead. But, you cannot make people buy what they do not want to. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and choice. I personally prefer Apple products because I have been using them for many years. I never had any major problems with them and they always work real well. And they are easy and simple to use. If you're in the market for a smart phone, you have to decide which one is for you.

Thanks for your comment.
I'll search for friends with iPhone to really see how does it work. The best way to find the smart phone for me is to try it and compare it to others phones and to my necessity.

Well... I'll probably get burn for posting this response but here it goes... Let me clear few things first... I like apple products... I own few apple products myself & like them very much... I'm not here to bash an iPhone... That being said, 1) technically, iPhone isn't the first Touch screen phone out there... I've been using cell phone for little over 20 years, more like 22... I also used to have palm pilot to keep schedules, appointments, & business contacts... If I remember correctly, and I can't remember the model number, palm was one of the first ones to put out touch sensitive phone out there... And yes, despite it working better with stylus, you can use your fingers on the screen... I've used it myself... So iPhone being first touch phone is not true in true "touch screen" sense of it... 2) thounds & thousands f apps don't really mean much if you're Bly in need of handful... I own an iPad 2... I wrk as a translator... I bought it for work because I use internet on the road a lot... I didn't buy it for games or music... My coworker has android based tablet... He does everything I can do on his android tablet... Sometimes better because his tablet can support adobe flash, mine can't... I thought apple had apps for everything... Guess not... 3) battery life... I'm sure iPhone 4S has improved over its previous models... But here's the article on iPhone 4S battery life span, per charge... http://articles.cnn.com/2011-11-03/tech/tech_mobile_iphone-4s-battery_1_iphone-battery-popular-smartphone-free-cases?_s=PM:TECH... If I read the article correctly, battery problem has been in existence since 3Gs... 3Gs came out on 2009... It's 2 year old problem... Really? I know it wasn't only 3Gs because I've used all 3 versions of iPhones, first generation, 3G and 3Gs... I use some where between 3,000 to 4,500 voice call minutes a month due to my work... I know you can for e the iPhone to stay on 2G which will give you longer talk time on it... But if you're gonna do that, what's the point of buying $500 - $700 phone when simple free flip phone can do the something, or at least work off of 2G network... It's like saying, "I have a Porsche but I can only go 37 miles per hour because I have to put small donut wheels on it...". Sorta defeats the purpose... 4). Memory... I know with 32 & 64gig memory in the phone, it's more than an average, or above average, person needs... But, having a memory card does make it easier for some people to go back & forth without having to carry a data cable... I work as a translator... Some of he documents are pretty large sized files... Once my agency call me for an insurance case... Make a long story short, I had to take total of 86 pictures of damages to the car, scene of the accident, along with other things... Being able to pop the memory out of the card made it easier for me to work with my computer... 4.5) speaking of taking pictures, I know iPhone 3Gs and below had 2 mega pixel camera on it... When you're dealing with accidents pictures where details does matter, higher the pixels does help... Oh, for the record, I used blackberry 9700... I'm not saying blackberry is any better than iPhone... I'm saying everybody has different needs & iPhone isn't all that great either depends on needs... I'm just tired of people making iPhone out to be some "be all & fix all & fit all & best thing since sliced bread" device that everyone makes it out to be... It's not... It has its own place... For some, iPhone will work great... For others, not so much... When everything being said & done, bit comes down to fashion statement or some people... Ok, not for all, bu for some...

Thank you very much my friend for your long comment you made. I appreciate very much cause your analysis is done from the experience of the use of different kind of devices. My sister has bought iPhone 3 some days ago and for what I see the things you can done with it doesn't justify that price. Anyway iPhone has some problems as the other phones too, but it seems users as unconditional esteem on it.

iPhone is the best smart phone out there. I had iPhone and Samsung Galaxy before and I can see that iPhone is really better. Samsung is a total copycat of iPhone, I heard apple is suing samsung for copying iPhone. Owning both phones, I really saw the similarities. It's just a cheap version of iPhone. And if you are fond of multimedia, you will really enjoy having an iPhone. I love using every features on that phone. Unlike with other phones that has so much features but when you own it, you will never use all their features, iPhone is different. You will enjoy everything about it. I am so addicted with my phone even if it's with me for last couple of years already.

Thank for the comment.
My sister has bought iPhone 3. I saw it for a while and I'm really estonished cause my 49€ phone has more features of iPhone 3 paid 400€! I know that the are a lot of applications to install on it, but I was espected that if I pay a lot I would have a lot of features to use immediatly.
I hope that is only the first impression and I'll change my idea!

Oh yes, maybe they are the first ones and their touch screens are the best but I bought a simple mobile phone with touch screen and it works very well and the price was only 49€ (more or less 60$). It's not a smart phone and it has less applications, but if I have to choose an iPhone cause they have the best touch screen I say no thank you.
About tv I'm interested I look at tv very rarely.
Anyway thank for your answer!
