.............. I am not leaving mylot! (^_^)
I just need to go out and buy from the nearest 24/7 convenient store.
I just want my friends to know becoz, it may take time since I am not driving (not using a car) gas is too high
And, TREAT's store/ MINI-STOP/ 7/11 (convenient store) are just block away from home.
5 minutes walk and maybe it will take me more 30 minutes to think what to buy (aha- I am just craving for something to eat...)
The question is:
@ Do you have the habit to tell your friends that you going somewhere (vacation/outing/fun/hang out with other friends)
@ In case you are chatting with facebook friends- would you care to tell them,or you just logged out without saying "hey buddy...goin' out for a while"
Okay...whatever, see yah friends..post,post,post your comment!

hi di
when you return back and find my repsonse, you would realize that you forgot to get me chocolates... and I am pretty sure of this
The ekkk reminds me of Project IGI when I was nearly hositalized playing that PC game 48 hours non-stop
I always share where I am going to with my family. Before marriage and when I was with my parents, I did so because my late grandfather and mom both have heart problems and there might be an emergency. As during those days, we did not have this gadget called Mobile Phone, I always told them where I was so that I can be contacted.
After marriage, my wife always knows where I am headed to (though many a times I am not aware where she is). For FB or other social sites, if I am not into a chat or discussion, I politely quite without informing anyone. But yes, if I am on a chat, I should and always mention that I am leaving maybe a bfn or gotta go tc kind of thing

Hi sis!
Yeah, I want to tell you that I am posting my comment in your discussion!!!(^^)
Hope you are doing well with the halloween feast~(^^)
I thought that you are leaving ......your halloween party~LOL(^^)
Talking about the subject matter, honestly I like to tell them that I am going somewhere. But not like I am writing at my facebook wall telling them that I do this and that. I hate that so much..But just in case if they chat with me and I need to go somewhere then I will informed them to wait hold on a second. So they will not wait and wait for my reply then I will buzzed them when I get back to my place.
In fact when I am at home and I need to go out for a while I will make sure I let at least my mom know where I am going so they will not asked me or my missing. That is what everyone of us did at home so at least one people know where you are up to~(^^)
I still remember when I was in a high school me and my friends gathered at the school canteen and talked to each other and suddenly I said to them,"I am going to buy some sweets". And one of my friend said," You don't need to tell us that you want to buy sweets. You may just go and buy it." I looked at them and thought that perhaps they are not used to it.What if I am not coming back and missing in action?? Will they know where am I?? I am not just telling them that I am going to buy sweets but just to let them know that I am going somewhere else for a while. So that is why I think it is important to let them know just in case if anything happen to me~ Or am I being to.....pessimist???Or something like that?? I don't know~(^^)

dear sis,
Yes,that's one purpose of telling our friend where we are going.
What if something happen to us on our way,at least they know that we are heading this way or that way.
I always tell my friend that I am going for a week or days to this place and keep in touch with them.
It's for our safety and also to let our friends feel that they are important to us.
Have a good day always dear

Hi dear jai! I thought you're really leaving us,haha!
I do have the habit of taking time to say goodbye to my friends especially my close friends. If ever I hang up on fb,I see to it that I pm them the next time I log in and tell them why I was gone for a while, well, for sure the reason for hanging up is because my net was down again, waaa!!!!
And speaking of my close friends in mylot, last year,I PMed my close friends here when I had a vacation since my hubby was here for a vacation. And now that I'm going to have a vacation again at the end of the year, you're already included in my lists of those who I will pm to let you all know that I will be away for quite some time, hehe!

Hi Jai!
If am chatting with my friends, I would tell them the reason for quitting the chat. There is no harm in telling the exact reasons to our friends. I hope my friends understand my situation and won't mind if I tell them the exact reason.

hello dpk,
Yes,there is nothing wrong telling our friends that we are leaving the chat, and it is better that way than leaving without saying a word.
Have a good day always

Hi jaiho!
I don't chat a lot with friends but whenever I do, I always tell them when I'm about to leave the computer and tell them how long before I get back. I think it's protocol of being respectful and considerate. The friend on the other line will not have to wonder where the heck I went or why I'm taking so long to answer.
I definitely say goodbye when I'm about to leave and stop chatting. Unless I fall asleep and failed to say goodbye or "be right back".

hello sis,
I don't chat actually esp when I am logged in, in facebook.
But,I have this friend who really is very considerate.
She always tells her friends each times she logged out.
If ever her connection went slow and she was not able to say bye...she will surely send me text message.
Yes,it's consideration to our friends,to let them know that we are going to sleep or logging out..
have a good day

I am quite reticent when it comes to telling people about my activities.Of course nowadays since i am completely and permanently homebound it does not matter at all since i don`t go out. However thigs have changed what used to be when i was a youngster and what is now.Peole now hide everything and do not disclose where, and when they are going out.I usually come to know that a neighbour has gone out for some days long after he/she has returned home. Not that i care but everything has become too impersonal. As for FB i hardly ever access it.I joined FB only because i come to know my friends birthdays.hugs

I need my space. And since I have a caller ID on both the landline and cell phone if I dont pick up the phone they know I am not in. I do not take my cell phone with me. My life is private and I want others to know that I do not like 'peeping toms'

Some people are in the habit of telling friends about it. There is nothing wrong with that. There are also some people who are so secretive about their plans. There is nothing wrong with that also. As for me, I am in the habit of telling my close friends only. I do not want to make people think that I am announcing my plans. I have to keep my life private also.

I have not been telling my online friends about going out. For that matter today evening I had been to a marriage reception along with my wife. Marriage is for the daughter of my publisher who prints my books or I write for him. It was interesting to watch Master srikanth , vijay tv famous small boy singing there. food was good. The publisher took care of us nicely by taking us for dinner and saying good bye.
When I started from usa to India I did tell to mylot friends online.

Good to know that you're just going out dear
I want some brain freezing smoothies please, and thanks
Yes I do tell my friends if I need to go somewhere, I don't want them to think that I suddenly leave without even saying so. Some of my friend actually don't notify me they just log off even when I still have a lot of things to say and we're in a middle of an interesting discussion. It's sometimes annoying, but there is nothing I can do about it. It's what they actually wanna do.

Leaving issue!
Nice idea of posting this.
Anyway.
In my case, it depends.
Of course if you are leaving
with your special someone
buzzing and flooding with chats
peaking in your display -
Yes - I have the habit to let her know.
But if otherwise.
I don't have to say. :)
I just disappear!
I mean - call me harsh and mean, but - I don't care!
LOL.
