Would you resign from your current job (because of small salary) and go take chances some place where there is a possibility of a higher pay, but uncertain of the job opportunity?
I am receiving basic pay in my current job, which is never really enough, my friend told me to resign and that she will help me land a job some place where I might get 5 times my salary now..
It is a huge gamble because the last time I resigned, I had a really hard time looking for a new job.
But i am considering my good friend's offer.. a new environment seems a little interesting...
What would you do if you're in my shoes?
Good Day!

if i have a friend like your friend who can offer me a good job and has a high payment of salary i think i will go for it and i will resign for my current job,i will take that opportunity and try my luck to earn more and to have a satisfied salary.

That does sound really tempting but I don't think you should jump into it without doing some research or scoping around first. Instead of just upping and quitting your job go and check out the new place first. Make sure that you'll definitely get the other job before doing anything. I was in a similar situation some years back and all I have to say is that it was a major pain trying to get another job after quitting my previous one (and that was when the economy was still doing good).

It is better to find better career and compensation.I you wanted to resign in your present job make sure that you have a new job already. And if your friend offer you a better job, grab it if it will be better and will be beneficial to you. They do say that opportunity knocks once.Good luck and pray for guidance.

I would not resign until I def had landed a new job. There is no reason why you have to resign in order to find a new job, especially if your friend is going to help plug you in to a new opportunity they should be able to get the ball rolling for you without you quitting your current job. Be very careful what you choose to do in this situation because you may get stuck with no job at all and that is not a situation you want to be in.

hello there... I think you should first visit the new office, clear the interview, see what salary they are offering, collect an offer letter from them and then resign at the current office.. There is no point in losing the current job and steady salary, for something that you're not sure about...
Good Luck!!!

I think that would depend on the circumstances. If I need money badly, then I would take my chances. If not, I would rather stay put and see if I can do well at the current job and get a raise that is good enough. I think jumping jobs for money is generally not a wise decision, until and unless there is a pressing need.
Cheers!

I will resign if my salary is small. I need to be able to put food on my table for my aging parent, my children and family. Small salary is not enough to buy food, let alone pay for rent, and transportation to work, while my employer is making several million annually. Nowadays corporate's greed is very common, most of the business owners are greedy and place self serving interest above all things else, if you can find a job with bigger salary, you should resign immediately and let your employer get new employee.

I will never take the risk going abroad or to any country without any assurance.
Aside from the fact that it would be too risky for me, I don't want to risk my family as well.
It would be my family who will suffer more if I will be in bad situation from far land.
So,I would rather stick with my low salary as long as it can give my family a decent life.

hi there,
it actually depends on how much higher the new salary is going to be. If it's going to be something like double the current one-YES, i'll definitely resign, otherwise if i am happy with my current one, i'll probably stay.
