For those who don't know what this is (though I'm sure you know) Doppelganger is a ghostly double of a living person, that typically represents evil or misfortune.
Writing this discussion, I remember my two roommates telling me about this scary experience they had in our room. I was usually the one who comes home first after work. But that night I need to meet a friend so I came home late. Once I returned home, they said one of them sees me on my bed while I was using/looking at my laptop. She says "HI" to me and told my other roommate that I was there but the other insisted that I'm not there and no one is in the bed and wonder why she said Hi to someone that isn't there. To prove him that I was there, what she did was climb up the bed (we're having a double deck bed and I usually sit on top) and find out I wasn't really there and my laptop is off.
It was so creepy that the next day I was home alone, I had to turn both the radio and TV on with the highest volume. Just so glad that no great misfortune had happened. Thanks to GOD!

I remember one day preaching to the children of the church and then when I got home I saw a man thing naked and sitting on my bible which I left on the floor that day, whenI saw him in my bedroom I thought that he was my father (even thought I never se my father naked and knowing that my father would never do something like that)well when I saw it I close the door fast and then thought that it was so rare that my father did that so I moved back to my bedroom to discover that I was wrong, there was nobody in my bedroom, but I really saw that skeleticle person with his a ss on my bible naked, it was so rare and what I could interpret is that I have to be more organized with the things of God because God is and order God,so as soon as I realized that it was a vision and not a person I rebuked in the name of Jesus.

Yes, friends, but it doesn't scare me, I know that there is an spiritual dimension, and that sometimes our eyes get open to see what almost nobody can see, there are angels but demons too, I keep my pray in God who is the powerful, and nothing can against him.
I believe in the psalm 91
If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”

That's really something to be scared of, Rosa. I agree with you, jaiho, maybe the illusion is tryng to convey something. And best that has to be done is praying or re-assessing one's self.

Apparently there's someone who lives around here who looks like me, too - people keep asking me if I used to live in another (nearby) town because I was their neighbour, friend, the guy they bumped into at the doctor's all the time, etc.
The guy I saw who looks like me was in a pub in Cardiff when I was living there. It was really freaky - I looked down the bar and thought "Oh, a mirror". Only it wasn't. When I looked back again and realised, he looked too and we both went

not a twin brother?
People often tells me that I look like someone, but when I see them I don't think they look like me. But if I see someone that would look exactly like me, I would be frighten too especially that I know I have no twin sister

Honestly I did.
I was around 14 then when this happened.
I got home from school and I always look for my grandma to give her a kiss whenever I came home.
So,when upon entering the house, I looked for her and found her downstairs at the back of our house,she was sleeping at the hammock.
I decided not to disturb her and what I did is,I went back inside the house to changed my clothes (from school uniform)
But to my surprise,I saw my grandma coming out from the kitchen...
I told her what I saw...and she say's...another scary experience huh!
Yah...I am not scared, I know those were spirits and they cannot do us harm.
Relax, my kids never believed such and thu sometimes they felt something unusual esp in our hometown (with old ancestral homes) they just ignore it.
I raised with such belief...spirits/ghost cannot do any harm...never entertain!

Good to know you;re kids just ignored them, they're such brave kinds. I do get scared with such things though I wanted to see one, But on the condition that there is someone with me or that I can run as quickly as I can.
I think I would really find it difficult living in a house like that. That was the first and last experience they saw that spirit. And soon I have forgotten about it, but remembering this scary thing when its Halloween

Hahaha, it's just that last night I accidentally read somewhere a scary story. Good thing I wasn't watching TV much. But I was hearing some scary documentaries on TV downstairs, guess grandma's watching

I have heard stories about doppelgangers, why are they even called that..it is quite a hard name to remember or understand for people who do not know what it is. 
I haven't encountered one, fortunately.. But that is creepy and I would never want to see one.

It's indeed hard to remember. When I was younger and found out thru reading some books on what it was called, I usually forget the name and I have to always check the book. But over time it has been stored in my mind...
Doppelganger is acually a German word for double goer. I don't actually know why people decided to use a German word instead of an English word.

I haven't seen one too.. But the thought that I was the one who had a doppelganger (as my friend sees it) gives me the creeps, knowing that it was said to be an "evil twin"... But thank goodness I always pray and believe in God

Or I have, and I forced myself to forget such a horror
Because--if I ever did--I would probably get away as fast as possible to avoid being sucked into them like Neo (Mr. Anderson) was sucked into his mirror-image when they first pulled him out of The Matrix.

I haven't experienced such too. And would not want to see any one having a double. It's scary especially after knowing that the one you saw isn't really that person you thought s/he was.

Well..this didn't actually happened to me..but one of my classmate told me her story.
She was way back home from school and decided not attend class tomorrow because she was really tired. But something happened,her classmates did not informed her about homeworks and some other stuffs about the lessons,they didn't even visited her.She asked her bestfriend why, but the answer she got was.." You were all there yesterday"..That really made my hair skin stand up when i hear that. So who in the world would look like her and act like her and be almost like her, went to the school?..XD creepy isn't it? XD

I never had an experience with a doppelganger. I know friend who has. She never saw them but they would turn on and off the lights when she was watching tv! Her boyfriend at the time would see some doppelgangers in the kitchen in the middle of the night! It just wasn't just once either! Now that is creepy!

Yes indeed it's really creepy having seen doppelganger or unseen spirits. Bad spirits, they say, bugs people who are living in the house. But some spirits are there and if you don't mind them at all they won't do anything to harm or scare people.

I have never encountered a doppelganger. There were a few times though were friends and some acquaintances tells me that they saw me somewhere but I was nowhere near the place they are saying that they saw me. There was a time when my friend told me that he saw me driving a red car but the thing is I don't know how to drive and I don't own a car. It is pretty weird. Maybe I just look like them.

That's what I thought too. Maybe you just looked like them but that wasn't you at all. But if they see you in your house or some friend's house... and then you arrived late when all they knew was you're already there... then that maybe we can consider that you're having a doppelganger

hello there. i really can't tell you the exact thing. i think i heard stories of it before but i never took it seriously.i even don't know that term until just now. i am even shocked that phenomenon has a name. oh yes! i saw one in the movies,too. i hope i will not experience that thing. if it does, i will consider it as a a blessing in disguise, a sort of a reminder that i need t pray.

I have encountered a doppelganger too. It happened last month.It was past 10 o' clock in the evening. Me and my younger brother were watching the replay of the Miss Universe 2011. Then suddenly, mother join us. We are not talking to each other because we focus on the replay. Me and my bro were shocked when mother came out from her room saying that we need to rest! When we ask mother if she had ever join us in watching, she said she was sleeping and she never came out of her room except the time she called us to sleep. My bro was shocked and so was me.

Whoah! Now that was creepy! And it recently happened to you. So both you and your brother saw you mom joined you right? Was it just some sort of imagination that both of you thinks she was sitting there watching with you?
