The signs of election is just around the corner

There are signs that election is near, whenever it is close to election, there will be a lot of changes like roads are getting new tars from town to some rural area.
Politician are showing their faces more often and keep visiting the people more frequently. Money are given to schools and some organization more frequents.
People are getting more benefits like students getting free books voucher and some fees are waved.
Low income families are getting monetary support from the government.
All these are easily seen when election is near. Are all these are the election "sweets" that the politician gives just trying to get more vote for them?
What benefits have you got when election is near? Do you feel the same or seeing the same when the election is near in your country? You view please.

I guess your ruling party can't keep you from knowing the election is near after many years of living in your country, you can tell just by how much goodies handed out in certain period of time, that is a funny political phenomena often play out in your country, i assume whenever the city poor and rural area villagers got all these 'one time' goodies, they tend to forget about all the plunder of nation's wealth by your ruling party officials after that, they are happy with the bread crumbs handed out by the elected officials through national tax revenue and the country's natural resources source. Most of this type of event only happen in corrupted developing countries, i seldom encounter such type of extraordinary political tell tale sign in my country before the election day. You are indeed quite a lucky person living in your country with political party that is so predictable in nature by the voters as a whole without even the need for them to announce the coming of a new election soon.

Hi Lampar,
Yes, it is quite predictable since we have election every 5 years, but it can be earlier. It is very clear that, those are the tactics of the ruling party. We have been seeing things happen like this for decades and they still thought that such a election goodies can "buy" in more vote for them. People are getting smarter and learn a lot from the past experience. So, I do not think such a tactic will really affect a person's vote. We want to see a long term development and benefits from the ruling party.
I do admit that corruption is happening here but it is also true that it happens everywhere regardless of what type of country, either a developing or developed countries.
I think such a phenomenon have the pros and cons, pros is that we can request things easier when it is election time but the cons is that they will get back the money through all kind of way once they have won the election.

Corruption by ruling political party doesn't happen every where and all the time in every country, dear... I just don't know how you can come to that conclusion, may be you want to give yourself some consoles that it is just normal practices for nation's ruling elites to have corruption, the voters in your country shouldn't make it such a big deal since every country has corruption including advance nations. That is fine with me if you really believe that. If the tactic is not well receive, i am sure your ruling elites 50 plus years of one party hegemony in federal government will not go on as usual for so many years, of course it affect the voting outcome, ruling elites don't do it for fun.

Corruption happen everywhere and just that it is hard to detect it. When come to money, who doesn't like money? Especially when come to millions or even billions of dollars. At least, there are many way of corruption, where some money are taken and some just spending the people money easily, that is another form of corruption. Many people do not admit that such a things did happen in their country, but that is fact that you have to accept.
Although, one party have been ruled for over 50 plus year, that is because there are some unknown secret that outsider will never know and until the opposition parties got stronger and revealed the secrets and let the people know the true. Human are afraid of changes, and not many will like to change if they can carry on like this without much question about how the one party works, but when people are getting smarter, and learn from the past experience, they will start to change. There are a lot of examples that you can see that happen around the world.

It is a very common sign when there is an election.
However, we must be conscious for not being cheated by these election candies.
As a voter, he or she must judge out independently and wisely to decide this vote.
This vote will be very important and it can affect the future of our next generation.

That is definitely true, since I have learn from someone here that some of the country, you will not be able to see such a phenomenon happen when election is near. I think that is not right for such a thing happen. There should be bias on parties by the Election Commission or they are not really serious in carry out their duty.
