A blog for promotion

Hello friends,
like you and many others, I am also finding various ways of earning through legit ways on the web. I am a freelance writer and I need to promote my articles. I have written hundreds of articles about various subjects and thousands of news pieces related to entertainment. Entertainment articles get stale sooner. But as far as other articles are concerned, they are lots of 500 word articles and also 1000 word articles.
Can I have a blog that will describe a specific topic briefly (50-60 words) and then put a link to my original article on that site. Does Google allow such a blog? Will it mean that I am using it only for promoting my other articles? I want to play safe.
If the above described way is considered to be illegal, then please suggest something different. Because I feel my articles are really going waste as they have no traffic and so no earning for me.
Please suggest.

Have you tried media like Technorati and Broowaha? They are quality sites you know. And they allow you to post your article on your blog also, Broowaha simultaneously and Technorati, after they publish first. If exposure is what you are looking for, then I'm sure you will get noticed very well.

Well, I have heard of Technorati but not of Broowaha. In fact, I do have an account on Technorati, but I am not active there. It's good that you reminded me of that. But I didn't understand what you said about allowing to post the articles. Can you please explain it? Yes my friend, it is the exposure which is what I am looking for. I am also hearing about Blogcritic for the first time. I think they are worth having a look at.

If you run a blog and if you write an article for submission to one of those sites I mentioned, you would also want that the article appears on your blog as well. What I meant is that there are no restrictions that you are not allowed to publish the same article on your blog. You can. That way, you can count the post on your blog as well!
Broowaha is good. http://www.broowaha.com. Once you register at Technorati, you can opt for Blogcritic as well.
Good luck!

That's a good idea. What I do is make a 1-2 opening sentence in Redgage blogs. Note that it's not a copy-paste from my original article. Then tell the readers to read more about that topic on the link below my short opener. You're idea is similar to this, right? If you have a lot of followers in your blog, it may work for some extra traffic.

@Beingwell
Can you please tell more about RedGage? I am hearing this name for the first time. Is it a place where one can promote his work? Please tell me a bit more about it. I really want to augment my earnings as I think my articles are going waste as they are not being viewed as much as I have wanted them to be. Wow, $1 per day is not bad. I think it might be passive income. Is it?
@girl_thinking
I also agree with you that I did not know it. Maybe I may try it for sure now.

Sure thing! I earn more than a dollar a day at RG. Plus, I get the extra views for my Triond articles. Just don't copy-paste any wordings from your articles, friend. I think it should be fine. :)

Hello abhi_bangal,
I think you start a blog like this, but if you want to build your readership you should be posting some good stuff too. Post some full articles too there. You can also make money from your blog if it runs good.

Yes, I agree that the reader base is an important thing that will take us a long way in earning good for days to come. But as far as posting good stuff is concerned, I will have to write some fresh articles on this blog as well. As of now, I am really running short of time to devote separate articles for the blog. Whatever I write, I want to promote that. And currently that is my basic aim. Yes, write an article once in a while would be fine for me.

Hi abhi, that's great! for a good writer you need to have a website, but for you to be online for 15 minutes, start a blog. As I have noticed, you can have links to your articles on your blog. If you will use blogger you need to have a gmail account and just check for guidelines so not to violate anything.

By the way, I am a freelance writer and I am online for around 10 hours a day. Most of my work goes on right here - on the Net. That is why writing articles and maintaining a couple of blogs is what I can do quite easily. Yes, I know that we can have links to our own articles on our very own blog. That is not the problem. But I wanted a separate blog where I will just put in a description that will be in a way related to my article. Then I will put "Read here more" type of a link that will take readers to the original article. That is what my idea behind the new blog is.
