Hello everyone, I am writing this brief discussion as I would like to clarify a question that arose spontaneously in me these days. I suppose that on Mylot, there are some (and hopefully few) people to reach the threshold of "rank 500" in order to make the copy / paste answers write very short, perhaps limited only to say: "ok" "thanks for sharing "," good ", etc.. My question is: this absurd answers, can negatively affect reputation (colored star and numbered) of user ? Thank you !

I don't believe an answer like that will have any effect on a reputation. I like it if people give a good answer/advice and also explain why or what. But I noticed that there are also " discussions" which are not a discussion at all. The one who wrote it is not asking for a reply, answer, any advice. I read plenty of them. Just kind of announcements or so called statements of 1-2 lines not even explained why or how or what. Personally I don't see the use of even answering "ok" or "good". The one who wrote these kind of discussions are not interested in any answer anyway.

Hi there... I fail to understand why would they get negative rating... I mean, even if their replies are short, there are good reasons for that, right? A member of myLot who reaches such a ranking as 500, would not, I trust, post short answers without reason... They're responsible members who have been here for quite some time and whose capabilities at writing are unquestioned, right? That is what, I'm sure, gives them the authority to divert a little from the general guidelines... What do you think????

I think your answer is correct, however in my opinion answers such as "ok" "good", etc., should be avoided for the prestige of this site estimation.

This type of answer or response will probably not earn positive marks on this site. In order to build your reputation you need to receive positive responses. If admin chooses to, they may even ban that member for "suspicious activity." MyLot is a discussion and participation site, and the more quality answers we post the more we earn. We also get more friends and we have a lot more fun when we really interact with others on here.

The members themselves decide on rating an answer. What is for sure, is that short answers wont earn you much if anything. I don't think they would negatively effect your reputation directly. But they prevent you from getting a positive that a good, well thought out answer may have gained.

Hello Alberello, Reputation here on MYLOT is effected only when other users rate us -ve on our responses or comments. There is no other way that our reputation is effected so its better we must give quality content on our responses/comments. I can't say if anyone -ve rate for people on responses they write like "ok" "thanks for sharing "," good ", etc.If someone rate them -ve for this then its for sure their reputation get effected. As far as guidelines say that we should not write such responses.

Every answer we make affects our rating. When we post good responses, there is a chance that a mylot user will rate us possitively so it may increase our rating. But when we post rude comments,a user might rate us negatively. And it may decrease our rating.:)
