A friend and I was in the mall yesterday and decided to watch the last full show of Justin Timberlake' and Amanda Seyfried's latest flick - IN TIME. The movie is a sci-fi thriller that portrays a futuristic society in which people stop aging at 25. This is how they would look if they are a hundred years old already. Once they turned 25 the clock starts rolling and this is also used as a currency. There is no money and this time is the one that is used when purchasing anything too. So if in case you have only 2 hours to live and you need to buy something this 2 hour may be reduced to 1 and a half hour. They are programmed to live only one more year. Unless they can buy their way out, they can manage to live longer which means the rich people can be immortal. And the poor lives shorter. Have you seen the film? How do you find this movie? Do you want to live in that world?

yeah..i have seen.. IN TIME..very interesting..just didnt like the idea that justin and *gorgeous) amanda being together in an almost criminal behavior reminded me sooo much of bonnie & clyde..other than reminding me of Bonnie and clyde which i dont really fancy..the rest of this movie stayed very interesting enough.. i had my own discussion on this film few weeks back..probably u didnt noticed it..

Hi rafiholmes, really i did not see any discussion made about it.. so well I thought I could make one since I recently seen it in the theater. Yes Amanda's and Justin's characters were like Bonnie and Clyde mixed with Robinhood deeds

It was a little difficult to accept the fact that the world in this movie only use time as currency and that you don't age after you hit 25 years old but then you will only have a year worth of time to live which means that if you spend that year you will have less than a year to live. My daughter said that the movie is based on a science fiction book. I guess in the book, the author probably explained how our world becomes the way it is in the movie. How time becomes the currency and so on. Have you heard of the idiom Time is money. The writer of this story really takes the idiom literally. In this movie time is money!

There were similarities in some novel and old movies, but they're claiming that they did not based it on any of it and it was their original ideas and concept. Yes he took it really seriously ^^

Thanks for a great review. I already wanted to see this movie because I like both of the stars a lot, but I wasn't sure what it was about. No, I wouldn't want to live in a world like that but we kind of already do, on a smaller scale, don't we? The rich and powerful can usually buy their way out of anything and it's getting to where they're the only ones who can afford health care, or it will be soon if some people in our government have their way. Do you think this film is meant to send a message or was it meant to strictly be entertaining? Annie

I agree. Sometimes all the money in the world can't save someone's life if they're unfortunate enough to get a fatal illness. However, money sure does give someone a head start on those with little or none. Don't even get me started on corrupt officials who have no clue how "ordinary" people sometimes struggle just to survive! Annie

Hi anniepa, Aside from giving us entertainment, I also think it has a meaning like most of the movies we are seeing. It is just up to us how we understand the film. Your view about the film is one of it. I agree with you that the rich and powerful can usually buy their way out - but sometimes if it's a grave illness or it's heart attack - one's wealth cannot do anything to ask for a longer life. While, the poor ones sometimes can survive if they are eating healthy and knows how to take care of himself. I think the movie can also apply to corrupt officials who only think about themselves and their family and never cared at all with other people. They can do whatever they want and they can make millions from their position. While others are trying so hard to work in order to survive.

ahh...i see how this movie proceeds to its ending. the way you describe the movie seems that the movie has something more to offer. though this movie is just a product of a creative mind, it brings out something related to reality -survival of the fittest;the more money you have, the more chances that you will survive.am i getting it right enelym? i hope i can still find the movie when I go to moviehouses next week.

In Time had quiet an interesting concept, but I felt kind of bored watching it as it didn't give me thrilling effect, as the story progressed it was kind of predictable, this kind of films should always have some kind of twist which should make it interesting to make viewers think what will happen next, In time didn't have that. In Time wasn't disappointing one but could have been made better ...

Hi Arun, I agree with you on that. It's quite predictable. What I don't like in it was the ending, it's like they cut it short and had no idea anymore what to put in the ending. So the villain was easily defeated, and both became Robinhood.

Yes, they could have made a better ending, they both becoming Robinhood wasn't quiet necessary, could have had some twist in the ending ...

I really want to watch this movie. I think Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried are really good together, so the movie might be interesting. I love both of them, and I have seen some of their movies and all are good. I thought this movie would be a Romance-Comedy. Justin Timberlake doing a sci-fi? I think it's good. Thanks for you review. I will definitely watch it.

Yup they both look together. Amanda is really pretty I like her and Justin used to be my crush when he was still in Nsync and seeing both in one film is really great. Nope it's not a romantic comedy film but I would suggest you to watch Bad Teacher and Friends with Benefits, I've seen both and liked it and sure you will like it too.

I saw this movie last night, while the idea and premise of the story is quite unique and definitely different from the other sci-fi or futuristic movies I've seen before, its a bit disappointing the way the movie was made...It failed to explain how and why the world came to such drastic change, then the casting of JT in the title role didn't help either.... I don't want to live in a world where my survival depends on others generosity and constantly worried about criminals who are after my time, just imagine the endless pursuit of getting extra time to survive and the inequality between rich and poor is just hard to take. They could have made a nice movie out of the storyline but surely they didn't deliver.Out of 5 stars I'll give it 2.

Nice to read your views about this film, jojo. I also don't want to live in a world like that I find this film really great but yes it has also entered my mind how such situation happens. How the timekeeper made all of this possible and how Amanda's dad acquired the most wealth. Well then the concept of survival maybe different but if you think about it, it still resembles how we live in the real world now. There are criminals taking the life of innocent people whether they are rich or people in order for them to acquire money,. They are ready to kill anyone, rich or people, and take your money, precious and expensive gadgets and things.

I have been eyeing this movie ever since I have seen its trailer a month ago. I hope I could watch it soon. Just by watching the trailer I can conclude that this is a movie worth watching. Aside from the unique plot, I am excited to watch Amanda Seyfried. She is one of my favorite actresses and I'm sure she had given an amazing performance in the movie. Also, it is interesting to watch JT to improve as a actor. He has begin to become better and better as the years come. He had proven that he is a man of many talents.

Yes he has revolved into a good actor and having involved now in great films, I do think it has helped him mold his acting abilities more. You have to watch it Lara I am sure you're gonna like it. It was indeed worth watching and the concept of the movie is so amazing. Amanda Seyfried is so fabulous and pretty.
