Trolls are all over the cyberworld. They are annoying and they completely don't benefit anybody with their sharp tongues and pity self-assured selves. So, how do we get rid of them? How do we fight them off and destroy them to the point that they can't possibly troll anymore?
haha, i should start an anti-troll club or better yet an anti-troll army!!! -evil grin-

I'm dating myself here - but when I was a little kid some five decades ago, a troll was an ugly little plastic doll with hair colors that spanned the rainbow. My sister and I would get scraps of material and felt and make little outfits for them. I used to love making bandannas for them. Thank God I never had that hair myself! I'd be combing it all day.

Such annoying people are found in real life and at the web. Better not pay any attention to them: they love to get it. The poor trolls use their sharp tongues to hide the fact that they are shallow inside. I wouldn´t answer or comment a troll post or answer. That´s it.

Ignoring them is the only way to make them go away. They love to make you angry. Tell that to yout friend too and make her relax.

I guess ignoring them is for the best. A lot of my responsers have been telling me to ignore them. But suppose if one is trolling a friend of yours and that made your friend worse, would that make you want to scold that troll or are you still going to ignore the troll?

I think the notion of going off to destroy cyber trolls is really pointless and not worth your while. True, trolls really spoil our day, but there is no need to stoop to their level by ruining them. Plus, even if you get rid of a batch today, another batch will just pop up tomorrow, so there will be no end to it. Instead of bearing hatred towards them, you would be better off ignoring these people or at most telling them that they are hurting others.

aw... that's a bit depressing but I understand now that it is pointless.

trolls add spices in the internet, without them it's boring here.

are you, by any chance, a troll? just wanted to ask, because trolls are said to do trolling out of boredom. I'm not accusing you, I'm wondering.
Some people think of it this way and some think it's plain unpleasant to have trolls.

I guess trolls here on mylot are not welcome. You don't have to debate with them because you will never win anyway. They don't accept truth and never want to be corrected too. They don't listen either so there's no point also to comment and reply to them.
Trolls please stay away on mylot

well I'm glad there aren't any trolls here on mylot! -phew- There's so many of them on youtube, sometimes they could be entertaining, making a fool of themselves hating something but watching it still.

yeah I saw some people in the net like that. I think dont bother to feed them with your reply. I dont think it is necessary to responding trolls. best way I can do just report those troll if I find them. because argue with them just waste of time. especially those who likes to insult if they lost the argument. not even worth attention.

The best way to get rid of them is to ignore them, but everyone has to do the same to them. They feed from response and attention. Without that, they will simply vanish off into cyber-space as their needs aren't then being satisfied.

that would be great, wouldn't it? for them to simply vanish off into cyber space. There's too many of them though... sigh

I think I've been on the Internet long enough to realize that trolls are going to pop up everywhere. No matter what is done or not done. And some of them are rather persistent at their craft. It is almost inspiring in some twisted, demented way when you really think about it. Yet trolls will be in every nook, every corner of the Internet, popping up, to drag poor innocent souls into conflict who have yet to learn one important rule. "DON'T FEED THE TROLL!"
I think that right now when I see trolls and I just sit back and observe. People tend to fall for the same tricks every time in feeding troll behavior. And they are encouraged. It is kind of amusing when the same people fall for the same trolling trick every time. They will be everywhere, people will get bored and boredom tends to lead to some fascinating behavior. That is just what I have to say about the manner. It is a small source of entertainment to watch trolls interact with people who feel compelled to get the last word. Which in a way might as well be trolling in its own right.

Now that I think about it. yeah, trolls might be doing it for entertainment, not only for themselves but also for those who are there to read their 'troll statements'
Exactly how are trolls fed? does this mean the act of calling their attention and scolding them or start an argument with them?
Some people can't ignore trolling, because they are hurt and so act accordingly to that emotion. Is this considered 'troll feeding' too?

i actually watched one of my friend being an internet troll... but he's not an internet guy, he don't even understand much about computer. He just sometimes browsing the net and i can see that on his eyes that he think he's just post on some machine, he didn't think that those things he read are actually made by human. He just think that "i read something on computer and i just wanna make a funny useless comment". i think if people don't use computer that much, they still feel that what they read is just a words on some machine. They usually didn't relate/feel what others had written.

Hello Aja! :) Are you talking about the haters ? Those who loves to comment negatively on everything. Those who trash talk everyone. Those who do not even care if they are hurting and degrading people? Well, yes I hate them. However, I am not doing anything to 'get rid of them'.
The sad truth is you cannot control the way other people think. What you can control is how you will react to them. If you fight back with these haters, then you become a hater yourself. The best thing to do with these kind of people is to just ignore them. These people are looking for trouble. Once you argue with them then you are giving them what they want. So just don't mind them. Don't even think they exist. That way they would get 'bored' with you so they find another target.

That's great advice, Lara! I just can't understand why trolls do it. Some may not mean it and do it only for fun or are those trolls really stupid?
