Have you seen both the original and the remake? Which one did you like more and why? I saw the remake yesterday at the cinema and i liked it. It had some good ideas, not like some of the horror movies which don`t have a meaning and in the end you don`t know what exactlly happend. Now tell me about you and your oppinion on this movies.

i have seen both... but ...tel me. have u seen both???
because the old one (1982) and the new (2011) is NOT A REMAKE..its a PREQUEL ..
so if u seen the old one..u will know that the new one doenst follow the old the thing..instead it tell how they found the alien in the first place..and how it ended up with Kurt russell in the old The Thing..(part1)
for my opinion..both movies are good.. after watching 2011 ..u can smoothly continue watching old new..for good continuity . its perfect ..doenst ruin the legendary 1982 version by John carpenter..legendary film maker.
i had a discussion about the thing on myLot.probably u missed it.

i think that is great... seeing the new one first is really better..then now u can see the old one(which is part 2) so u can see what happened next after the girl torched the last alien infected body of eer..forgot hs name..Eric? or omsone else..
so ..part 2 (1982 version) continues with the Dog.runnin... (rememebr?the dog survived..so the alien mustve copied the dog instead..)
