Yes! I finally got rid of that ugly blue, peeling wood trim on the front of my house. The new vinyl siding was installed today after a week delay due to the right color being out of stock. Now my house isn't an eyesore to me or passerbys. I am so happy. So what is embarassing about your house/residence? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

All the peeling paint on the outside trim, gutters with more holes than swiss cheese are the embarassing things on the outside of my house. Someday we'll get to update things on this end.

My hubby had a friend who was going to do our gutter and roof for us BUT we didn't have the money after all. Plus it's hard to know when he's going to show up to do the work exactly as that's how he did things when he put on the new roof on the IL's garage and I hate waiting I want the job done. Though for places I've heard of that do various work outside they may do roofs but not the gutters and I can't figure out for the life of me why. Oh I forgot my siding is oxydizing as well.

hi 3snugglebunnies that is odd as I would think the gutters would be considered part of the roof for goodness sakes. Here in my room I just find the big window screen is loose but as i am handy and if I make it worse it could fall clear off. as we are on the second floor I don't think our handyman would appreciate that. he is however a really sweet guy.

Hey webeishere, your house looks like new, nice job and congrats on the new look. I live in the city, so there is not much to look at here. I live in a BrownStone, so you know they're old buildings. To us here, these houses do not look embarrassing.

Looking good! My house is brick except for the sun porch that is attached to the back of the house. That is white siding. The only really ugly thing about the outside of my house is the windows. They are not really that bad, but they are the original windows from the late 60's when the house was built.

I would love an old fashioned brick house with ivy clinging to the face of the house. My windows were TRASH. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

hi GrandpaBob still here in the tiresome retirement center. what is bugging me is the window screen is loose on our window in our room and I am afraid if I try to fix it I will instead push it clear off thus falling two stories to the ground. I will have to tell the front desk tomorrow. now I am trying to get a bit done on mylot after being off it all day. your vinyl siding looks great Grandpa Bob nice color.

Wow! Your house looks like a NEW house! I remember a couple of years ago and now it is night and day difference. We live in an old house.. it's over 100 years old in one part and over 60 years in another place. I'm not really embarrassed.. but we have a front door that I can't open. If anyone comes to that door I have to tell them to go to the other one. If there was a fire and I had to get out that door, I would just have to die because I can't even turn the lock.

Yeah, it's a HUGE difference in appearance. Especially since we lost our big Maple tree out front. That blocked the view of thew house for the most part. Now the visin is a lot better. Dang, no front door working would be a real embarassment to me as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Mine needs painting. It's not really bad but bad enough that it bothers me....I don't know if it bothers anyone else. I could use a few other updates too.....but with the taxes etc keep going up it's hard to keep up with things!

That's a fantastic difference! The before and after is so different, you probably feel as if you have a new house especially with all the inside changes you're making. I sided my house shortly after I moved in so I really don't have anything in particular that I don't like about the outside. I would say, though, that the garden area just in front of my porch is kind of an eyesore with all the vines and that stupid plant that has purple flowers and red berries crawling all over the place. Next spring I plan to get serious and plant some rose bushes or something.

hi GrandpaBob we only have a rented apartment and dont own a house. But the most embarrassing thing about this house here is, that its so poorly insulated, not insulated at all in fact. I hate this about our place but as we are not the owners we will not invest into that place any more than what we did so far.
