You hear a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, but what does that mean? In general, a healthy person doesn't smoke, is at healthy weight, eats healthy end exercises. Sounds simple, doesn't it?
The trick to healthy living is making small changes.. Taking more steps, adding more fruit to your meal, having an extra glass of water. There are just few ways you can start living healthy without drastic changes.

This is true! I have tried doing those baby steps but after a few days I find myself going back to my unhealthy habits. You would really need tons of discipline in order to be successful in having a healthy lifestyle.

Hi karen! I will underscore the phrase 'Lifestyle' to base my response on. Lifestyle is about the way one moderates various routine activities in life. Eating, walking, drinking, sleeping, reading, relaxing, working, socializing and a few more like that. The emphasis should be on two attributes of all those activities: regularity and balancing.
Leading a healthy lifestyle to me brings impressions of fit septuagenarian and octogenarians who have managed to stay that way because they led a healthy lifestyle. They were regular in all the activities, consistently, for long years. And they managed a good balance between work, family, socializing etc.
Now that's the lifestyle I think ensures good health.

Living a healthy lifestyle is pretty much doing everything that would keep your body fit and healthy. It covers from eating the right food, exercising and having a healthy habit.
You are right. Living a healthy lifestyle sounds easy, but the truth is a person would need a lot of discipline to be successful with this, especially when temptation is just around the corner. Once started, a lot of people would find themselves stopping the changes they made to have a healthy living because they can't resist the temptations surrounding them.
For those who really want to be successful on having a healthy lifestyle, please try to discipline yourself on what should or should not do, what you should or should not eat. Train your minds on doing what is right. Keep thinking about the consequences of not being healthy. In the long run, you will be the one who would benefit for your hard work and I tell you, despite of so many sacrifices you have to make, in the end, it would be totally rewarding.

I agree with the last post. It's about eating well and exercising but also about reducing stress and having a positive view of life. If you're constantly stressed and working hard killing yourself in your office everyday, you may eat and drink well but you will have so many stress related conditions which impact on your life in a negative way. You may even suffer from illnesses relating to these problems. So relax and enjoy life also!

This is almost impossible to maintain actually. As 90% of the consumables (assuming) these days are tainted with chemicals and, chemicals - as far as I know - isn't a healthy thing to live with. You can find naturally grown fruits and vegetables but they are way too expensive for a normal person to AFFORD. Yes, that's the truth about the world today. Feels like you don't have a choice.
