Whenever we watch movies - it is very common that the characters carrying on a conversation with himself. Ring ring! The same goes for real life! But today's world isn't the movies, and that you cannot publicly display that you do this personal therapy thing. I've been always plural - so let me just clarify and say; YES, I do talk to myself. A lot! Especially when I'm brainstorming my next articles and such. It helps me overcome stress - i think - and it actually helps me come up with better plans. Personally, I don't think something is wrong about intrapersonal communication. Just don't get caught. And hey, is it normal?

I think it's normal as long as you still think you are not losing your ownself.
By thinking, we can also talk to ourselves but in just mind thinking. unlike you, you want to talk more for you to be able to remember all the details or informations you have to keep in mind, is it? if it is, i think it's still normal to do so. but i hope you can also talk to others for you to be able to remember all stuffs and for you not to talk only to your ownself.

I think I'm still at normal level and far from losing it. (LOL) Yes, I do that... I tend to recite anything I want to memorize to remember them better. :) Thanks for your comment. :)

Okay, if you said so, I think you are still normal! just don't try to be caught, okay?
It's okay to recite things which you really want to memorize cause by hearing it and thinking it the same time, it helps you more by remembering it. that's what we do in our job before as a cashier. It's better to let your customer know how much does they gave you and for you also to reminded how much it is to change.

Wow, I always thought cashiers reciting it back is only for the purpose of reassuring costumers how much they receive and such. Now I know! Oh, well! I guess WE are all fine around here! Hahaha. *Wink

I think that most of people will talk to themselves at some point during the course of their lives, however a lot of people will just talk to themselves in their head and never actually vocalise any of the thoughts that are going on inside their mind. I don't think that there is anything weird about talking to yourself as long as you understand what you're doing and you're not talking to somebody who you believe to be there but aren't there. If that makes any sense at all. We should talk to ourselves as it helps for us to think about what we're doing, why we're doing it, and how we can make ourselves better the next time.

Yes, that is very informative. Talking to someone who's not there is way over the line already! Haha. I'm sure I'm still okay. Thanks for the thought.

I talk to myself too! A LOT! Like you, it also helps me relieve stress and come up with good ideas. But yeah I don't think we should do that in public otherwise people would think we are crazy
I usually talk to myself when I'm rehearsing a speech or something. Not really a formal one but just like when I imagine myself talking to a neighbor or a friend. I know, I'm a freak, LOL!

I also do this most of the time. Like for example I am studying my lessons. I talk to myself and said, I can do this!! Intrapersonal communication is good. It could help you motivate yourself. It could even boost your self esteem. That's why I am not against with it. The only thing that is not normal for me is when you are talking alone with your imaginary friends. Oh that's crazy for sure. hahaha..

I think it is normal action,
I also do that everyday.
sometime when i dont have any thing to do,intrapersonal coomunication can give me more idea to do something.
sometime it is useful, but it also have some disadvantage.
if you too much do this, it will mae you carelees with all of thing around you.
so just do this for right thing.

Yes, it's normal and it's healthy, too. I mean it's healthy when what you input into your brain when having this self-talk are positive thoughts.

I think that it is perfectly normal to talk to ourselves. i have been doing it for years. i would hate to think that i was not normal now just because of a few words spoken aloud.

Hi, I do think it's normal for us talking to ourselves. I used to do that when studying at college. Sometimes I need to listen to my own voice, and of course I'll only do it alone, not having anyone around me.

Yes, we should do it alone. I do that too - when I study I tend to recite everything to make me more adept to what I'm burning into my brain.

I don't find it abnormal, I see it more as thinking out loud. A good way to organize your thoughts and plans and keep your attention to it.

Totally! I call it "talking in general" not talking to myself. I think when someone does it too much or has heated arguments with imaginary folks around them, that is perhaps a little bit different because they actually believe that they are talking to people that aren't there. Then again, who are we to say that they don't see something we don't? However, that is the difference between what people call "crazy" and good old normal talking in general.

I can't say I disagree though I don't pretend I have someone I' am talking to. What I usually do is that I talk and argue with myself. (LOL) Well, intrapersonal communication has various approaches so, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I usually only talk to myself when I get mad or stub my toe or something (lots of swearing usually exits my mouth). I think it's a pretty normal way to get some feelings out.

Yes, every individual has different ways of expressing their emotions. In you case it's like that - I couldn't deny I'm not like that too.

I talk to myself all the time when i am by myself. I have for years. It is like a have a split personality! I wouldn't do it around people. I believe it is normal to talk to yourself like you do. With me I am not quite sure! Could have a bad habit or I really have a split personality! What ever the reason I am not going to change it. it is part of who I am!

That's just the thing that worries me, I have read split personality symptoms and such - oh well, I passed them all. LOL. But I still think I'm normal. At least I can still hide it.

Yes, that's very wise thinking. Of course it's abnormal if it's beyond your control. Haha
