How careful are you about shopping? A great many things that I buy are from China
and I have been paying more and more attention to how things are made. Several times I have brought things home only to have them fall apart so i have learned to be aware.

There are not many things made right here anymore. Most things made in other countries are not made that good at all. I know what thats all about. Even though we pay less for something does not mean it's going to last. It doesn't. And we wind up spending more in the long run anyway. There is an old saying that goes, "Cheap is dear." That sums it up for me.

I was considering buying a new calculator, if I could find one for use in the car, but couldn't find one that was made in USA. I didn't buy one that day, and I won't until I find one that fits my requirements.

Yeah, they may be cheaper if made over seas, but the reason they are cheaper is cause they aren't quality, aren't well made. I try to buy American whenever I can, but so few clothes are made here...hard to have the opportunity. I check fabric content..there's always some new fabric used that I have never heard of, therefore, don't know how to care for them, but my experience is that those "new" fabrics....shrink. Happens every time. So I try hard to stay with actual Polyester and Cotton. Even 100% cotten, if made over seas, shrinks terribly..and wrinkles alot!
Just hard to get something good.
I also watch for expiration dates on all food. This one Vons near me...I swear..they get the cast offs from other Vons and everything expires in a matter of 2-3 days where at other stores, there is at least double time left on theirs. I always pick from the farthest back of the counter/rack for the one with the longest date prior to expiration... also the one that hasn't been handled a couple dozen times!

I have been trying to buy things from America instead of China but it's hard to do. I picked up some stuffed clams last week, I love those, and looked at the label and sure enough, they're from China! I did find a place that makes cookware here in America and bookmarked it because I'm looking for an iron skillet. They have reasonable prices and I can support an American company. But it's hard to find American made goods.

I have been very disappointed with some of the goods I have bought in the last few years that have been manufactured abroad. It seems that the paint on my two ovens is not even heatproof and has disappeared from the knobs and dials in the last three years. Shoddy work!
Years ago, things used to last at least ten years before they looked tatty or fell to pieces. Not anymore! Nothing seems to be made to last a lifetime and the insurers are doing a roaring trade on the back of it! The old axiom 'Buyer beware!' has never been truer!

About the China made product I have no choice but to buy them because all the computer parts that I need for my rig are available only in China. Maybe it depends on their product, if you buy product with a cheap price expect some glitch about it. What you pay is what you get.

Yes,we have to be careful in buying things. We should look for the quality and how long will it last.Of course we should also consider the price of it.There are cheap stuffs that have good quality. But we should take care on the things we bought for longer use.

I have been considering a spending freeze that will not buy products that are not made here, in the good old USA. I have not, as yet, instituted this policy. When I have not been able to find what I was looking for, and was made here, I have left without buying anything. I will continue to do just that.

Many countries have become the dumping grounds for china made inferior goods which have made consumers feel cheated. My country is no difference as we have long been a favourite dumping ground for china made goods. These unscrupulous businessmen are only interested in making quick bucks at the expense of our ignorance. I am more careful now with my money as I don't want to add more miseries to my already depleting cash. I used to be enticed into buying goods that caught my eyes instantly by the beautiful exterior only to find them useless as they didn't pass the shelf life that is equivalent to the price paid. Most if not all end up in the bin as they are beyond repair.

Sadly that's the price consumers have had to pay since retailers are out for profits and not quality with a profit (for them). And most people can't afford to buy more quality goods nonetheless when they can they don't expect them to say made in ...... If I'm paying a good price I want it made in the US or imported from Europe.

I have started being a little more careful about shopping lately, because I just don't have as much money now as I might have had at some points during the past. I will buy things that I need in my life just because they're cheap, and I often won't really think all that much about where they were made, or even how good the quality of the items were. I should maybe start to think more about it as I begin to earn more money and am able to afford better quality products, as they would be a much better investment in the long term.

Things that I take care when I am shopping is the expiration date, and most of the things that I m want to buy because are on sale, I can't buy them because I realize that by the time I maybe in the middle of the item is going to be expired.
Another thing that I tke care when I am shopping is that the item have low calories, in order that I don't break my diet.
