I was very saddened to hear of a baby who were aged 7 months has died because only his parent's is poor. His father just a labour with income Rp. 900 thousand per month ($ 106 in U.S. dollars) right now must feel a deep sadness because his son died and right now, he must also bear the debt of medical with amount burden nearly Rp. 30 million ($ 3,500). Crazy ... very crazy, had lost his child, must also bear burden debt for medical treatment expenses the deceased his child.
Are poor people prohibited to sick ? Are they just allowed to feel sick but not allowed get treatment from hospital ? Is it just they who have money that may enter and get medical treatment from the hospital ?
I'm really hope events like this will never happen again. Because, really pitied, lives must be lost only because there are no funds for medical expenses. The poor also need health services. We are all only human who any time can be affected by the disease.

There are plenty of poor people who are very healthy and plenty of rich(er) people who are very sick and die too, also have babies who die and have to pay sky high bills.
If you think rich people have lower bills or the same bill you are wrong.
We all have to die one time and when it is our time nobody knows.
I think there is a reason why people are dying and it's not normal/nature to keep everybody alive forever.
In animal world it is survival of the fittest, animals don't keep the weak and sick ones alive. Humans do.
I agree with you that we all are human beings and we all can be affected by any disease and if we conquer that disease something else will appear.
All over the world people are not getting the medical help they need because they can't pay the bill, they have no health insurance, they have a low income, too much other bills etc etc. This is not typical for poor people but for the kind of world/society we live in. Healthcare is business it has nothing to do with care or curing, the oad of socrates or whatever. It's business which means making money. If you can't pay you won't get it.
Over here you have to make an appointment with your doctor first if you are sick, if you are lucky you have one within 3 days. You are not allowed to go to the hospital by your own you have to see your doctor first. Doctor's offices are only open from 8am til 4pm if you get sick after that time you have a problem to get a doctor. I live in a western country but this is not my idea about how medical care should look like.

I am very sad to hear this news, whether it happened in Indonesia? In Indonesia, there are free health program, but apparently not all the people of Indonesia, can get free health care. Anyone can get sick, and anyone entitled to treatment. If I have a lot of money, I'll help all the poor who are sick.

This is one dream of mine, that someday I could build a hospital for the poor. The scenario you mentioned is very typical in third world or developing countries. Nothing is free. Even cotton balls a patient used are counted and billed.
