I Really Don't Know Why I Bother With PayPal

I'm so upset with PayPal right now. I'll try to keep this simple but - basically, they have a query regarding a payment I received from one of the GPT sites I use and, because of this query in the "Resolution Centre" any subsequent payment received by others is effected. Bearing in mind the site in question has paid me MANY times without any problems. Due to PayPal stealing my money (and it only amounts to less than £10) I cannot accept any more payments. Fortunately, I didn't reach the threshold for MyLot last month, otherwise that would've "bounced" as well. I have to wait now until this query is resolved but if it means I can't use PayPal anymore (through no fault of my own) what then? God, I hope I get an interview for that Capita job I went for. The closing date is on Monday and I'm getting desperate now. I told PayPal via email to target the REAL scammers. There is never any more than £10 in my account, hardly a King's Ransom.

This defies belief as I thought that Paypal was as accountable as any bank on the high street. I hope you get it resolved soon, so many people on line depend on Paypal. _Derek

HI Janey, I am so pleased that this matter has been resolved now and I expect a lot of other Paypal users may be able to breah a sigh of relief. It sounds as if they had to investigate all account holders to see exactly went on if one if being suspected of fraudulently activity, then they need to make sure that there is not a group of people in involved in it. I guess they need to consider all their customers. I know that they have tightened up and I now use the option of having a code sent to my phone before I can get in - it sounded pretty good... _Derek

Hi Derek. Fortunately, PayPal contacted me via email (I sent them one a few hours ago airing my concerns) and this matter has now been resolved. Apparently, a Sender's payment was being looked into in order to make sure there was no fraudulent activity going on at their end. Why a temporary hold was imposed on my PayPal account though, is unclear as another payment from another Sender didn't go through as it would do normally. Anyway, it's all been resolved and my PayPal account is now up and running as normal, and any money that was owed has been paid. I do agree with you though, we rely on PayPal for our online activities and any glitch (no matter how small) can have a negative effect. Oh, well, at least it's been resolved.

I never able to add my debit card to my paypal account. If I ask for help they post me the rules to add debit card, etc. I said my card is according to their terms and conditions but still not getting added up. They never resolved and I gave up the idea of adding my card. In my view Paypal is more useful for the sellers who sell their products on eBay. It is not at all useful for other purposes. I am sorry about your state of issues with Paypal. It is always irritating if our earnings are blocked but we have only one choice is to fight back. Nothing else we can do.

I feel sorry for you, not being able to set up your debit card on PayPal. It took me quite a long time to change from my savings account to a current accoutn so I realise how frustrating this can be. Hopefully, this latest problem of mine will sort itself out but don't hold your breath!

Fortunately, the temporary hold imposed on my PayPal account has since been lifted, so payments can go through as normal...and I'm quite relieved about it!

I also have some issues with PayPal, but thankfully nothing is in the resolution center. It's just mostly on the charges I incur monthly because I have a business attached to the account. Anyway, I haven't read any of your succeeding discussions yet, but hopefully you have some good news on that Capita job.

Well, the closing date for applications was the 7th, which of course was Monday. I've not heard anything as yet. What worries me the most is receiving something on Saturday. Usually that's bad news as no-one can ring up on Saturdays! If I got something tomorrow or Monday there will be more of a chance of the letter being positive. I shall let you know when that time comes...and thanks for asking.

The problem arose as they were investigating another site I use (not MyLot so you don't have to worry about that) and, because they have now been verified officially, the temporary hold on my PayPal account has been lifted.

i frickin hate paypal.but unfortunetly it's the only thing like it some sites accept. they really need to make them comply to real banking laws and not hold people's money hostage like they do.

PayPal has removed several small payments -- the most important was less than $2 -- from my account "to avoid further problems" -- I don't remember exactly their words --. I believe it was because the senders had no money on their accounts, but one payment has been removed 5 weeks later : I don't say that they are stealing money, but in this case I would have liked to have a real explanation. I had only a weird dispute started by the sender for... $0.20 ! I could not send back this money -- the option was blocked by PayPal -- and I did not wanted to enter in their Resolution Center for $0.20, so I waited until they sent back these cents, but my account was not blocked during the dispute, and I could send and receive money normally. I can understand that they block the money corresponding to the amount of a dispute until the end of the dispute, but I don't understand why they would freeze completely an account during a dispute. I wish you good luck for your interview.

It seems that I'm being punished for the Senders taking back the money. I didn't think of the Sender not having enough funds in order to send the cash in the first place..but, usually, they would let me know beforehand and send the money until they had the funds. The sites I use are good ones too, not been set up in the last month or anything like that so are well respected. Anyway, let's hope I've heard from that job I've gone for. By this time next week I shall probably know if I've an interview..oh, I do hope so!! It really gets to me not having money near Christmas-time!

I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time with PayPal! I had an experience with them with this awful music website from Europe that charged me almost a hundred dollars for something I couldn't cancel. Thank God Paypal eventually fixed it. It took them AWHILE though. I pray you get the job you want as well! Keep us posted.

I need all the prayers I can get my friend and thanks for thinking about me, it means a lot. I do think that finding a job in the real world is the only answer to my lack of finances and perhaps this problem with PayPal will give me a kick up the backside to fulfil my goals!

Paypal caused me a lot of problems and even after I got it fixed I seldom use it anymore. I had a similar situation and they marked a payment as suspicious then I got it fixed and made a mistake I sent myself a measly $3 from my personal account to my business account and the whole thing started over again. It was so frustrating I swore I would never use them again. Unfortunately I needed them but I am not happy with them at all.

It doesn't help when they're suspicious of absolutely everybody. I do realise there are scammers out there but not everyone is like that and I wish PayPal would make allowances for this. The only time I have any decent money in there is whenever I sell anything on ebay and I won't be doing that anymore!
