For Filipinos, I am sure you have seen the recent news in the Philippines about the killing incident of Ramgen Bautista, son of former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. and brother of Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.
I don't know about what really happened, whether what the investigators says was real or not. However, if their findings are true... I feel really sad and disappointed that the victims own siblings are responsible for killing him. He's such a handsome young man at age 22, and his jealous (younger?) siblings, Ramon Joseph and Ramona have to hire someone to kill him - because of what reason -- MONEY (and maybe jealousy)? This is really crazy. Money has now become the root of all evils and can kill their own family members in order to acquire money. Again, we are still not sure about the fact of this.

Can you kill your own brother/sister/parents/relatives or even a stranger just because of Money?[/b]

Money could really have a bad effect on people. Too much or too little of it could make them bad.
In this Revilla case, it is obvious that the siblings wants the money to be channeled through them not through anyone else. Maybe because they want a bigger share of the allowance. But because it is Ram who is handling it, they cannot just get more than their share so they killed him.
What a waste of lives, Ram's , because he was killed and RJ & Ramona because once proven guilty , they will be incarcerated.

In the newspaper today, it was revealed by Ram's PA, that Ram and RJ are really not in good terms, because RJ sold his car for only 800k when it was worth way more than that and Ram told their father about it. He bought a new car with it . To punish RJ, Ramon Sr., let RJ pay the downpayment with his own money , so much so that sometimes even the pay for his driver is being used to pay the amortization for the new car. Ramona and RJ even joked of killing Ram, because they are really both so angry with him.
This is a case of spoiling the children. I think growing up without a father in the house but being given only so much stipend spoiled those Revillas. The mother was also said to have been "lubog sa utang", which Ramon Sr., paid just that very day, when this killing happened.
Sad, it cost Ram his life.

I agree with what you said. Too much is bad as we have seen with the Revilla's case. Too little is as well bad as we've witnessed crimes committed by people who have no foods to eat at home and resorted to robbing and doing all sorts of crimes.
So as I see it you also believed the two has really something to do with the killing of Ramgen. I do believe with investigations made by the authorities as well.

I've seen in the mom's facebook account a link to a blog, there were saying that Ram's PA has something to do with the killing of Ramgen. They are trying to put the blame on him and had even said this guy's fb account says he works in Senate of the Phils and might be in connection with Bong. They even mentioned he just moved to a prestigious village. But I still don't believe in that accusation, a lot has witnessed Ramona walking away simply without asking for help and even a police seeing him somewhere and then reported she has been kidnapped.

This is really a sad news and shocking at the same time. I've heard that Ramgen is a really nice guy plus hardworking, he even have sulit account that sells different stuffs. Such a waste of life. I have reasons to believe that his brother and sister really are the culprit. I've learned from the news that Ramona and RJ stole Ramgen's money worth 100,000 Philippines peso in 2009. Everyone in that family is crazy except for Ramgen, he was different.
I don't think I am capable of killing anybody for any reason at all. Only insane and evil person will do that.

Hi brew2x!
So he has a Sulit account too? Wow that's really admirable of him trying to make a living from there too. I think it's not right for us to judge the whole family, but with the reports and witnesses we've seen, I am really believing that his family is really crazy and gives more importance in money than having Ramgen as their family member. I just could not imagine the mom who was so "holy" in her facebook account can obstruct the justice deserved to be given to her first child.

Yes that's what I also wonder.. leave facebook to her kids. But her on those supposed to be "tough" moments of her life. She should be very busy. If I was her, maybe I won't even think of switching on my laptop. I was "supposed to be" sad and devastated with the loss of my eldest son.

the jealous feeling when arrives and the money becomes one of the cause ,then no one can stop it and a person can go to its edge and do all such crimes.
Children or kids at their young age should be taught some good things and try sharing in their life ,even moral values are to be taught and followed in the family. If such things are not observed then such type of news wil be coming now and then in this world.
No one can get away this jealousy and greed for money.

I think that is what's missing with the kids. They were lack of parental guidance. The mother was said to be having schizophrenia and was all about money too.

Oh is it? I have no idea of what's happening in the Philippines as I don't watch TFC...I'm fed up with the news everyday about violence, killings, rape, etc....killing seems to be a normal activity in our country....people's morale has gone very low, sad to realize this shocking truth.

Well violence, rape and killings happens in every part of the country. It's not only in the Philippines we are just not aware of the crimes that are happening in other parts of the world
The world has truly changed, I guess they are no longer scared because the security isn't so strict anymore. We are exposed with bad things and movies and therefore this is the result. They all think it's just easy to escape the crimes they made - I just hope that all victims can be given justice.

Indeed you are right enelym, crime happens in all parts of this globe, but we have to admit that Philippines has a very high crime rate....and worse is, criminals victimized their own family members like what you have told us....sad to hear

It is also true that Philippines has a very high crime rate. But we know about this fact because it is our own country that we normally see news everyday and read online news to. But for some years I have been reading some news too whenever I catch it a headline from other countries online newspaper. It's also sad that there are parents who murder his family in some parts of the country. One shocking news I read was the father had hidden his daughter for a long year in their basement without his wife and other children knowing it. And he fathered a number of babies from her. There are a lot of news everyday if maybe you will only got the chance to see it you will then know it is happening in all parts of the world. Sad but true.

Yes you said right! They allowed money to make use of them to do such evil thing to their own brother. Yes they did not kill him literally, but the fact that you are mastermind of such crime makes you the killer itself.

This is actually a very intriguing news. Come to think of it, all the involved parties are so young, both the victim and the accused. How could the accused being at a very young age, think of something so murderous.
The world is really getting worse. People are acting like animals. This is disappointing and scary _

This is very disappointing and scary at the same time. He don't even thought that those he loves and living with under one roof are those that wishing him and worst, hire someone for him to get killed.

Jealousy and money can turn ugly heads to commit evil. The court here sat on a murder case involving two brothers. According to the father of these two siblings, his two sons, and his only children, have always been at loggerheads since young. What happened during the fateful day was the younger brother was supposed to go for further studies but the elder brother wasn't too happy seeing his brother being sponsored by his parents for his 3 years studies. They started arguing and once the parents were out from the house, punches start flying out which send a fatal blow to the elder brother. The younger brother was apprehended and detained by the Police. The court hearings only came to end recently with him being released after the court found him not guilty of the murder as he was provoked.

This goes without saying the importance of a father's guidance, having fathered over 80 kids, clearly Sen. Revilla couldn't possibly have enough time and attention to guide all those children.Obviously he just uses his money as means to make up for his shortcomings as a father.
What was he thinking?bragging on national TV that he intended to impregnate every girlfriend he had a relationship with.....In our society its perfectly fine for those famous to have kids from different women, the machismo mentality(culture). He may have been financially able to support all of their material needs to survive, but money alone cannot and will not be enough to compensate for the time he clearly doesn't have especially now with his health issues.
He probably had his heaven with fame and fortune, women and love from his family. Now definitely going through hell as he faces the waning years of his life with this tragic incident that he himself is partly responsible.

Yes we would think that one of the factors of this is the lack of their parent's guidance. Money and jealousy comes after that. But I would not put most of the blame on their parents. We all control our mind, our hearts.. we all are responsible of our own actions and reasoning. He may have had a lot of shortcomings with his children but the fact that he was supporting them financially is reason enough for him to be considered as a responsible father. Some friends I know don't even have financial support and has been deserted by their fathers but they grew up to be a loving person.

First of all, money cannot but everything. Money cannot buy true happiness. It only brings temporary feeling of delight.
Surely, I cannot kill my own brother/sister/parents/relatives or even stranger just for the sake of money. I am not jealous to others because I am contented with my life. Killing is a mortal sin. Your conscience will surely kill you. If you want to have money, you must work hard in order to accumulate it. There are lots of ways to earn money.
I was really sad to hear the news because it is hard to believe that you could kill your own brother just for the purpose of money.
I do hope that this incident will not happen again. In order to attain something, we must work hard for it. Always remember that life is more important than money.

I agree with you - money only gives us a temporary feeling of delight. We can't even have it when we die. And I don't think people who knows the value of family can ever kill anyone.
This is why I appreciate my mom for not giving us a lot of money when we're still students. She believes that by doing such we won't be like our cousins who gets so angry and don't respect their parents when they cannot give them the amount they want.

I absolutely can't do that, killing my siblings just to acquire MONEY.. WHeew! We can have money in so many ways however we can't replace the life of someone dear. I am proud and I love my siblings whatsoever.. Take away the money, I will take my siblings with me..

This is bad, I can never imagine a very young girl like Ramona would ever do that especially to his own brother. But unless the investigation proves she's guilty, then she must pay for what she has done. Justice will prevail..let's never lose hope.

I also hope for that. Seems like she's really guilty on the crime that it made her decide to runaway and chose to live in another country. Not a good way to help get justice for her brother.
