My daughter has such habit she cant sleep without hearing songs she start songs on her mobile. Even when she was studying she started the FM in mobile. I annoyed on her and tell concentrate on your study songs will not help you in exam. She told me ohhhhhh Mom I cant do the study without music otherwise my mind will jump on other side.
Then I feel ohhhhh means music is helpful for controlling or concentrating mind in one side. I said okkkk but please before sleeping remember to close it. Do you have also such habit cant sleep without music or with sleep music.

I think your daughter really enjoy listening to music especially if she id doing something. Well, if this was her addiction and it help her dont try to stop her because she know that it really help for her. right?. I dont have that kind of habit but sometimes I watched Tv while I am studying and honestly it is true that it really help me because in that way I can study while I am listening to news or others.

My dear fanta,
I don't have such habit and when I am sleepy I can sleep even there is music played. However I prefer to sleep in a calm atmosphere. My sons enjoyed the song when sleeping when they were too small. Now my younger son often sing song and try to make me sleep (it is really funny) the same way I used to make him sleep earlier.

Hi fanta..
Sometimes I used to hear songs at night during sleep time. And it feels really good. But surely its not like that I can't sleep without it. I only use music at sleep time sometimes.
About my sleep, Its really like god gift to me. I can sleep in any situation. With light, with noise, without them or any situation. No one can come between me and my sleep.

Actually I used to have that habit. I used to listen to my ipod and couldn't sleep without it. My mom always told me not to do that. But somehow that habit got past me.
And my sister listens to music while studying. But me I can't do that. If I listen to music while studying, I start singing along and can't concentrate

As a general rule, I don't really have a habit of doing that. The only time when I might listen to some music is when my husband is on a trip or something and I'm home alone, or something to that effect. Luckily, this doesn't happen very often, but it has happened on a few occasions. I will listen to some music to make me feel a little better and such, but thankfully it doesn't happen often. I just feel better with him around. I have an easier time falling asleep and just sleeping.

I love listening to melow music just before sleeping. But sometimes I just sleep right away. So I guess I don't really have developed the habit of it.

Hello Fanta,
I had this habit many years back when i used to listen music before going to bed and many times i used to forget to switch of the radio before sleeping. But these days i have left this habit as now i have 2 kids who sleep along with me and wake up with little noise at night so its not possible to keep on this habit.
But i also felt when i had this habit that there was no such distraction in concentration if i used to listen music with studies.

hi:)
i can't sleep without reading books first and praying. I don't know but I feel un easy when I forgot to pray before sleeping, so everyday before I sleep even if i'm already so sleepy I still pray even short prayer. I think it's already a habit.and like your daughter I also cant study without hearing some music, it helps me relax and can concentrate more on studying, like I can think clearly when I'm listening to music while studying.

Hello fanta. I think your daughter is doing just the right thing. I can vouch for this from my personal experience. Knowing that close application to study is quite demanding and no one should induce constant burden on the mind, one requires to have spaces in between that mind can take off from the task on hand. Instead of allowing the mind to wander everywhere, it may be a good practice to consciously help relaxation by listening to soothing or enjoyable music. This is the reasoning by which even whether I was in school or I was doing my professional degree, I always had soft music playing alongside. It has therapeutic value. Going further, I used to go to a movie every previous day of the examination! I believed that having done constant study for days on end before the onset of examination, trying to stuff in more under pressure would only worsen things.
I have narrated from my experience. There can be divergent views, possibly.

I always listen to music when I'm working or when I'm going to bed. I don't listen to just one song. My daughter listens to music to help her go to sleep at night. I play classical soft music when she is getting read for bed and while she is sleeping to set a sleeping mood.

I love music...I have this habit....Music is a therapy...It can reduce our tensions,Grief etc....Some songs touches my heart....I always like to hear and sing music every time...That will make me happy and energetic....I am student...By hearing music,I can easily grasp the tough theories....Your daughter is doing the same thing....Sometimes,I will forget to off the music or F.M radio.... I suddenly studies the all new musics than studies....My parents told me about this...And I gave them this same reply.....Music is my all....I can't do anything with out music......Don't worry....Be happy...
ALL THE BEST... :-)

hi, in my family, we all love to hear old and sweet songs of Lata/ Kishor/ Rafi rather than the new drumbeats before going to sleep. My children 14 & 10 also love to hear any songs anytime but as rightly said by you we have to restrict them during studies. But even without music we can sleep.

I was like your daughter. I can't even concentrate when there is no music when I'm studying. It gives me a lot of inspiration. Even when I sleep the music keeps playing and my mom will just switch it off when she woke up in the night.
She won't asked me to switch it off coz she knows it is really nice to sleep with the music on... mellow music of course, not the songs that will wake us up Then in the morning I will switch it on, take bath and while dressing up I was singing with it and listening to the program of my favorite DJ's at the time. Sometimes it's the reason why I am late in school and at work (when I started working)
