I had been wanting, for the longest time, to find the best exercise that would really create wonders on my own physical being. I couldn't. for all the advertisements about gadgets and workouts I see spread on the newspapers, flashed on television, and subliminally created in the internet, were all superficial, I believe...
So I decided to put on my sneakers, espadrille actually, and finally set one foot in front of the other, and watch where my steps would lead me. Before I could even check on the poundage scale, I already felt I could move faster and with agility.... Now the neuropathy, because I am diabetic, is fast becoming a thing of the past...
There is nothing like the good old natural way.... walking!

Walking is a good exercise, but you should work your arms also. It is also a good cardiac workout if you walk fast. If you feel like you have lost weight, and your clothes or loser it doesn't really matter what the scale says. In fact it could say you have gained. Muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less space. In time, if you change your diet also, you may not be diabetic anymore.

my wife cant walk outside as often as she wants. but she does if the time and our child will allow har har har. but she is always at home with Karen Voight. she can do in the house exercise and enjoys perspiring. walking of course is the cheapest and most effective plus you can have the right amount of vitamins from the sun specially when you do it early in the morning... but sometimes when it is raining like today walking is not a good idea.

walking will always be the cheapest and easiest way to loose weight! I try too add atleast 11 minutes or more of walking a day to my normal day. So I will do everything like normal and do my normal walking but I have started walking during some of my favorite t.v. shows just to get a bit more in and then that way I don't feel too lazy watching t.v.

I found that using the hula hoop and dancing hip hop are fun ways to exercise.

Dear friend,
Nice to see you back, yes walking is one of the best exercise on other side diabetics is one of the dangerous one. It is known that jogging is good for cardiac problems. We have to do all these until we sweat well. There are many ways but I also feel walking is most best and cheapest.

That is warm welcome back, SHAMRACK, I did not expect it. And thanks for reminding how dangerous diabetes could get. We all need to be reminded every now and then.

I agree with you that walking is one of the best exercises that one can do. I have been doing a lot of it between treatments and it does make a difference in my life. I am not overly worried about losing weight right now since I am in chemo and they really look down on weight loss on people in treatment, but I do know that I feel better when I walk or do light weight lifting to keep my muscle strength and tone up. It is simple and it is something you can do with little or no expense in most cases. I hope that all is going well for you!

Yes walking is free... we like to go for long walks in the woods and around country parks with the children as they really enjoy walking and its very good excercise, gets you out of the house in the winter as well in the summer. We take a flask of tea nad a picnic as you can stand in the winter and eat your lunch. The children enjoy climbing the trees and playing on the parks.
Keeping fit at home is very important ot me as well, I like to get up early and use the wiifit plus to do yogo, muscle excerises, steps and jogging on the stop. I feel it sets the day up for me and is a very good way to chill at the end of the day when the children have gone to bed.

You must be good at striking those ten pins down. I couldn't do that. jazel, so long as you are keeping your blood stream moving, then it is good. Have fun!

I definitely agree with you that walking is one of the best forms of exercise. The main reason that it is such a good form of exercise is because of the fact that it is very low impact. However, some of the other benefits of walking are the fact that it can be done for free during most of the year. It is something that you can do with your entire family and it is something that is fun and can be done no matter where you are.

Yes, when it comes to exercising, do not believe in technologies. Know something, all exercise equipments are built based on the basics of exercise that we are doing everyday. Take a treadmill for example, it's a complete waste of money when we can actually run, jog outside of our house, along the streets and wherever we want.
Whatever equipments in the gym, are said to help us increase efficiency, they are useless too, because the only difference is, resistance used. Other than that, it's back to basics. Only after we get our basics right, then we move on for more. If not, settle for simple, yet more.

Then why don't The Owners pay us more to WALK to work?
I mean, I know that we're all "equal" under man's Creator; but ... well, there's a whole `nother discussion.
The point is that--no matter how free our spirits-or-whatever may be--these bodies are slaves to reality, making it most-efficient to become parts of the industry/market-machine.
And walking makes us 'parts' work better, right? So why don't the industry's owners (employers) seek out we who ONLY walk?

there are only two best exercises i think....
1. Swimming
because it involves all of the muscles to function together, or else, drowning...
but in swimming - no sweat or the sweat can't escape to our body...
2. Punching Bags
Sweat escape to all of the body, making it a total good workout, but its very vigorous form of exercises....
