Remember Ethan Zohn, former Survivor winner of Survivor Season 3 - Africa or the Amazing Race Season 19 where he appeared with girlfriend, also a Survivor champion Jenna Morasca (Survivor: The Amazon in 2003) which were not so successful after being eliminated on the 2nd episode, at double elimination.
If the race is not enough, Ethan is facing another challenge of his life. As it appears that after 20 months of remission from his rare cancer - CD20-positive Hodgkin's lymphoma, has recently been diagnosed again. The return means that he will have to repeat the new "smart" chemo, the SGN-35 which specifically targets the cancerous cells, which in his case are localized in his lungs, and a stem-cell transplant.
This is really hard news for everyone especially for his girlfriend, however, he is not taking this sitting down. Last reported, he will be participating in the New York Marathon, this Sunday. Don't worry, he's been given the OK by his doctors for this.
I really marvel his stoic attitude in the face of the return of his terminal condition and his testimony of meeting his ordeal face on is something we could learn a thing or two from.
I just pray and wish him the best.

Yes, I sure do remember Ethan. I saw him on the Survivor and then when I heard of his cancer I followed him on several other shows where he was interviewed. He is sure living his life to the fullest and not letting any of it get to him. Keeping a positive outlook is so important and not letting it take hold of a person. He is quite a fellow.

celticeagle,
He is quite a fellow indeed!
I am just shocked to hear this from the news especially when he showed no signs at all on his recent television appearance. Ethan is really a great guy and an exemplary example for people specially when they are dealing with a terminal illness.
I really hope that he will come out of his second cancer fight.

He sure seems to be as you said. I guess these things happen for a reason. Perhaps he has the strength to show us how much a fighter he is. Must get old after a while though.

You know, I was so disappointed when he and Jenna were eliminated from The Amazing Race because he is somewhat of an inspiration to me seeing as how my husband has just completed treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. However, from what I've heard about the SGN-35 course of treatment, the prognosis is generally pretty good. I also know from having a loved one that is dealing with Hodgkin's Lymphoma that it doesn't have to bring you down, you are generally able to live your life like you typically would.
I hope that Ethan has the best of luck.
