Hi Jessprince, I am more of an investor. I check the average dividends before making any purchase. Those companies that can give out dividends regardless of economic situation are good companies. That is why I do not worry about recession or stock market crash. I treat the money as gone for good, so that I can sleep at night even when the stock market crash.

Hi Jessprince, since you are in Malaysia, the best stock is Genting. You know how the business works, and you know that Genting has never made a loss until now. I am not so sure about the dividends, but I do know that this company is a great company for investment. Investors can also redeem a free room every year.

Well, if really from dividend perspective. The yield don't really looks attractive. Less than 1% yearly.... Any recommendation from SGX?

It's great to hear that you can sleep well with you investment though market crash! This is important for those who wanna involve in the stock trading market. You need to understand your risk appetite. Plan your trade and trade per your plan! BTW, not sure if you mind to share some company with good fundamental that pay good dividend so that my lotters here could benefit if they are interested?

bhonti, I am using a technique called TA (technical analysis) for my stock picking. You may refer to my personal blog (http://ta-klse.blogspot.com/) if you are interested on how it works. In simple work, it is a method to analyse the chart (based on historical data) and provide me with best entry time to increase the probability of my winning odd... :)

I have been thinking about it for quite some time now, but have not made up my mind yet. Stock market, to me any way, is a very complicated market. One needs to study and understand the trends properly before making any investments in it. I would not risk into the market right away now.

I am partly a trader and partly an investor. To be honest, I am just starting to learn the stock market. So far, I am in a positive side of things with a few downs in some stocks that I am in. But overall, my portfolio is in a good condition. I usually do trading with some rumor stocks and volatile ones. You can earn a decent amount of money by doing intra day trades with them. However, I really prefer to invest in blue chips for the long run. Only rule is to buy low and sell high. Also, to profit in the stock market, one must be keen with the information at hand and news that are popping out. They are a great indicator of the direction of a stock or the market itself. I am really a fundamentalist, but I am trying to learn technical analysis. I just hope that the world economy bounce back from all the struggles so that I can profit much better. I'd rather invest my money in the stock market rather than wait very long for time deposits and other low yielding products out there.

It's great to hear that you are in the positive side in stock market. Only less than 10% make money in stock market in my region (KLSE) if you are aware of it. :) Thus, good job to you! Just wonder where your rumours / news come in? I believe the timing is "SUPERB" important in your case. How do you ensure the validity of the news? Mind to share your experience here? Thanks!
