Why is it so easy to believe the lie yet so hard to believe the truth?

Sometimes it is just because the lie is what we want to believe. Especially in the case of someone who might have done something seriously wrong to us, or to someone we know. Even if we are almost positive sometimes what is the Truth we want to believe the lie, so that it will be easier to get over what just happened. Especially when it is something that could harm a friendship, marriage, or other significant relationship you might have.

Good discussion. I think, we humans seem to be gullible to negative things more than the positive ones. We are always apprehensive. The increasing amount of duplicity, fakes, hypocrisy and untoward things, stress perhaps make us vulnerable. Sad but true.
