Hi there people, i've heard a lot of people tolking about copper and other metals that you can collect and sell for a lot of money, here some shops pay you 4 euro for every Kg of copper, and it's not so difficult to collect a Kg of copper, i'm an elettrician so i can collect a lot of copper that my company throw away. i think that collectin metals will be a good investiment to earn money. Do you think that collecting copper and other metals will be a good investiment?

I think it would be a good idea, in fact. There are people who collect metal and copper illegally in our country. They steal all the cents and melt them, then sell them at a high price. But, since you can collect those in an honest way, I guess that would be a good investment. :)

Likewise, there are a lot of criminals in Britain that steal the copper wire from from railway lines and such, which is not only illegal but dangerous. Obviously if you are collecting by ethical/legal means then go for it. But many people are too eager to take advantage of such an opportunity. Birdie -

Of course it is, once prices to start to skyrocket again you'll get the benefit of earning a ton of money for the copper and/or other metals you have collected. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Economy are not doing good. Thus, the price would not rocket high at this momment... In last few years, metal price rocket high due to high demand from China (to build a lot of infrastructure for olympic). Do you guys similar demand would occur from london for olympic 2012?

Hi Codris, I think I have better luck in collecting old newspapers than copper. There is hardly any copper for office workers to collect. In my office, we have a cleaner who collects all the cardboard, and papers that we throw away. She sells them for a few dollars every month. I think that is a good way to complement income. Since she is collecting it, we do not want to compete with her.

Firstly if your collecting it for free it is not an investment(that implies you invest something into it). Selling metals has been going on for centuries, every country in the world has scrap metal dealers. You have to remember that copper is a very cheap metal along with tin so you will need a fortune of it to make any serious money. Most countries pay far more for aluminium such as soda cans. In this economy it is always good to look for new avenues to gain some extra cash here and there so kudus to you for taking the leap and doing something to help yourself.

Yes I do think that collecting copper and metals are a good way of making money. Especially the way the global economy is going. There is more than one benefit to collecting and selling metals. One you get money for it. Two the copper and medals can be melted down and reused for other things like building machines or vehicles or wires etc.. Everybody knows the importance of recycling. It is something that will make the planet last at least a little longer.
