This photo shows some light decorations for Christmas I bought today at Menards for 50% off. Each one was only $3.99. I'm guessing they are discontinued or something. Anyhow, in this window I have a tree in the center with 2 bells and 2 snowflakes. Each has 40 or more lights and look decent. In my smaller window I have a candle light in it. I usually buy lights after New Years at a great discount but this is a great deal before the holidays. Do you buy your decorations after the New Year for a super discount? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

How cheerful and pretty! How do you attach them? I can faintly see a cord but can't see how you keep them up. I bought all my Christmas things during after Christmas sales. But I will be giving a lot of them away this year because I don't use them. I have 6 boxes of outside lights that have never been opened that I hope to give the the neighbor across the street. Then I can enjoy them!

I noticed that at halloween they had some one clearance. I bet you if anything they were last years and they just stored what didn't sell. I wish I had the cash to spare to get us some lights for our front window like yours.

Yeah it can get costly with as many lights as I usually put up. I think I cut out about 1000 lights this year in my display. Change things up each year I say. LOL! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I usually use the same ones year after year and only replace them when they're really worn out. I have a whole store room of decorations and lights, so it's going to be a long time before I need any more. When/if I ever do, I'll shop the after holiday sales.

I have so many stockpiled things that I have very little to buy. I will not set the stuff up until after all the Thanksgiving birthdays have passed. I have one topiary type tree made from a tomato cage, and I bought several cages this year hoping to make more. I want a Christmas Tree forest on my front porch this year. I am almost ready for Christmas music, though.

I do the outside early to avoid the cold and snow. I have a lot of decorations and lights for inside. Those will be up in a week or two as well. I actually played a Christmas cd tonight. IHAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I haven't been in the mood or the feeling good enough to decorate the last few years, and I don't really have anything to decorate, since the PITA cats take care of everything... in the wrong way!

When I was working I always bought after Christmas decorations, lights, paper, cards, etc. I probably wont this year unless my writing money really improves this next month. I like the lights that you got and you did get a good deal on them. Tell your wife that you are only spending the money on the electric bill with the money you are saving by buying the lights on sale. It is only one month and it is so much fun to decorate. I can hardly wait!!

They look nice and the price is certainly right...they would cost $15 - $20 each here. How do you get them to stay on the window? I have a big Santa that goes in the window, only about 20 tiny lights but he won't stay up.

here in Canada, our 'black Friday' is Boxing day (the day after Christmas) which is a stat holiday but stores are open (only with in the last 10 years have been opening that day though) but that is the day to go shopping and buy stuff, especially left over Christmas stuff!

You have such a great time all year long.. from Halloween to Christmas it is such a blessing to see your discussions. Then in the summer it is your green thumb that interests me.. It's such a good thing to know you here on Mylot Grandpa Bob. I wish we could have lights up, but son in law would be too tired to do anything like that... he crashes when he gets home after working 14 hours a day... but we will have a tree this year. We have 2 big magnolia trees.. I wish I could get them decorated for Christmas.. it would be so pretty at night.
