How many Backlinks i need to rank higher in Google?

The website which rank top for my keyword has 70 backlinks from pr0-pr4 sites which i personally checked.So how many backlinks i need to get pass him,can anyone tell.

yes i agree with airkulet, always build backlinks as long as you can but always link to quality sites. Remember that quality is more important than quantity.

Just focus on the quality of your links and how important it is or how relevant that link for your page.

As many as possible , I read that its better to put them on high ranking sites.

Get more backlink as possible not only 70 or 100 but much better to have a thousand backlink to get good results.
