I don't hate smoker it's their life, it's their choice. I just want to know why despite the fact that they know all the bad effects that smoking can cause to their health they still smoke. I know some will answer that it is hard to stop but it is not impossible right? Maybe they have other reasons that's what I want to know the real reasons why they can't stop it.

I haven't tried smoking, and I will never try it because I know that once I started smoking it will be very hard for me to stop it.:)
Whenever I read books that are telling how dangerous smoking is and showing how the lungs of a smoker look like,I feel very disgusted.:)
I will never smoke.I want to live longer.:)

Yes,I also hate the smell of the smoke. It's suffocating. It smells very bad so I wonder why many still smoke.I know there is an ingredient there that makes users addicte, but it just doesn't feel good to smoke.:)

Good for you ferbjohn! That is what I don't understand with smokers because for sure they also see those pictures that shows the effect of smoking in our body, aren't they afraid that it may happen to them too?

I don't like people who smoke on public places as if they do not care about the world. I hate the fact that passive smokers or the one who inhales secondhand smokes are in more risk of health issues than the one smoking. I hope that these people would just smoke in their houses 'cause they are affecting the health of other people.

Yeah I agree people who smoke in public places are annoying. Unfortunately smoking affects even those who don't smoke so I hope many people will try to encourage their husband/wife/brother/sister/friend or any relative to quit smoking because it also affects us and through that we can hope that the number of smoker in this world will be lesser.

It's weird but it's good that most of the guys who respond in this topic are non smokers. Hopefully we, non-smokers, can think of a good way to convince more people to quit smoking.

I'm not a smoker. People who smoke or do those kind of things that want to stop smoking should take a class or something. Either people who smoke can't stop it because its addicting and they think it relieves stress. It's the nicotine in the smoke i think. Oh and people who smoke probably think its cool or make them looks cool.

Yeah there are doctors who can help people who want to quit smoking they prescribe certain nicotine patches and nicotine pill but I believe the smoker itself is the only one who can really help him/herself if he/she really wants to he/she can stop it, it's all in the mind. Smoking is not cool!!

Yes, I am a smoker, I have been smoking for 25 years. You are right in saying that it is a terrible habit and I know that I should quit. As to why I haven't quit, I guess its because I have not found the will power to do it yet. I could tell you other reasons, but those would just be excuses.

Good for you to admit that it's a terrible habit and you don't give unreasonable excuses because most of the smokers do that even though they now their reasons are not valid they still try their best to justify it

smokers are often upset when advised to stop smoking because its not good, so leave it, its their choice. just don't smoke in public places, because its would be very disturbing, esspecially in children.
thank you

I do not hate the smoker but I hate smoking. It has to be one of the most disgusting habits ever. First of all it stinks. Second it doesn't just affect them but the air that all of us have to breath. Next it is horrible for their health and then they whine when they can't breath or are sick. I cannot make since of smoking at all. I mean what's the point? I love the new commercial out showing the girl drinking the formaldehyde out of her science class. Its a great depiction of how gross it really is.

actually that's what I want to say I don't actually hate smokers but I hate smoking because the bad effects of smoking also affects those who don't smoke and I think that is really unfair. I hope there will be less and less smokers.

I hate smokers who smoke at the expense of other people. But those who are responsible enough to keep their smoke to themselves I do not hate but rather I pity them because they are addicted. They know within their hear that smoking won't do them any good and yet they smoke just the same because they can no longer afford to lose the pleasure they get from smoking, they feel helpless and can't resist anymore this kind of addiction. How sad for them but my thumbs up to those who were able to get over caffeine addiction and are now living a smokeless life.

yeah I agree with you I hate those people who don't consider others who don't smoke, like some jeepney drivers here in the Philippines who smoke inside the jeep that's really annoying good thing there is a law now that prohibits smoking in most of the public places in the Philippines I just hope this is strictly implemented in all those places.

I have been a smoker for many years now and yes it is hard but not impossible. Sometimes it is easier it quit, quitting i guess. In my case smoking calms me down but i have been reducing because i tend to lose weight when i start smoking alot. and that happens when i have very stressful days. The key for me to smoke less is to not be stressed out and be entertained but to stop i cant. the first step to stopping it to be determined to stop. without that there is no point.

Maybe you need to encourage him to buy that pill if it can really help him to quit smoking. Even though that pill is expensive I think it's worth it considering the possible consequences and the health risk to you and your husband if he will not stop smoking.

Yeah I don't get it either. I mean most people already know what smoking can do to our body and yet, they still continue to do so. There are a lot of harmful effects in smoking and I don't know what's good in that. But I don't hate them. Like you, I just don't get the reason. They keep saying it's hard to stop but what I think is that if you really want to stop, then it's not impossible. You can really stop that habit if you have the willingness to do so.

I am a smoker, not proud of it, but still. It is not impossible to stop, it just depends. You see, nicotine calms you, that's why most people smoke.I would like to stop, but that would mean less, if not no stress during the day.But with all the problems of each day, it's become more like a retreat, a semi-necessity for me to keep the motor running. It's not healthy, but it's not much worse than eating junkfood, or wasting nights in front of the tv or computer.

Personally, i couldn't care less if they die. I just tell them to smoke somewhere far away from people, to prevent second hand smoke from killing people around that person instead. XD

that is the most stupid reason! girls won't be attracted to a guy just because he is smoking
