Last friday, I received a text message from my big brother who is working in Manila that their Sony Bravia LCD TV was stolen.
I don't know the whole story but I am really upset to what happen to them. They really save and work hard to buy that TV.
According to my Big Brother, the obvious reason why their TV was stolen the person inside their house spy them which item they can sold to have money. Because the person they are reffering to has a son who has a Tuberculosis. The money they can sold the stolen TV will be the money will be used for the treatment of their son.
They are currently using the old they used to have.

So, you mean to say the one who took it was already apprehended?
Having that reason, is not a means to get what is not your own. In the case of your brother they worked hard and saved for it. Hence, the robber should really be behind bars now.
But because they are so poor, there's no way that the TV could be returned to them.

Yes. A wrong thing can't be justified with a noble reason. (If that person was really in need of money, he/she could have asked. Or there may be other people who will be ready to help. At least that person could have raised money by small donations, which people may not mind if it is for a good cause.)
This act definitely seems to be out of envy, though it's done in desperate condition.

I think my friend, in my opinion , it wasn't out of envy, that's why it was stolen. They are really in dire need of money and they know that Bravia TV can be sold for a hefty price, which could really help in the medication (if that is true).

To lose something you've worked so hard to obtain must be very frustrating. The tv must have cost a lot. I know a Sony Bravia LCD TV can be quite expensive. I'm sorry to hear that your big brother had it stolen from him but he also might know who the person who'd stolen the television. It's equally sad that the person your brother suspects also was forced to steal the tv because he needs the money for his son.

Are they sure it was them who stole the tv and not burglars out of the house? If i'm a burglar, i would definitely choose those expensive items to steal. So losing that LCD tv is of no surprise since it's lighter than those CRT ones. It's not good to accuse others of stealing when he has no evidence. I believe no matter how poor or desperate they are, they won't steal from the same people living in the same house

Nowadays we find it hard to trust anymore to anybody. I am very sorry for the stolen Sony Bravia LCD TV. That is a very expensive thing and big enough to be stolen. Stealing is a wrong thing. It should not be used in order for us to cure illness or anything. Why didn't that person talked to your big brother and asked for help? I don't think that your big brother would refuse since it would be pity on the part of the person with a son who has a tuberculosis. But remember we shouldn't tolerate this kind of act.

I am so sorry to hear about this. To work hard and save for something that is of value and then have it stolen is truly awful! I have had a lot of stuff stolen in my life. Once, when I was a kid, I collected rare postage stamps and one day, it was stolen from my desk in school. I never saw it again, and couldn't replace the stamps. I worked and saved for a car cassette player a few years ago, and that was ripped out of the car that was locked away in the garage. And I had my car stolen on one occasion. It wasn't expensive, but all I could afford to get myself to work. I got the car back, but it was wrecked. _Derek

I'm sorry to hear what had happened to the TV of your brother. With that kind of brand and model I know it's a fortune to have one. Did you mean the one who stole the TV is a household member of your brother. So this would be a reminder to others to be careful in accepting household members especially if you don't know them personally. There are also syndicates whose mode of operation is to disguise as applicant for household helper and ones they are hired they will ransacked the owner's house of their valuables.

So you are suspecting an inside job?, sorry about the lose, I know how frustrating it is when you know you have something and you want to use it and it's not there anymore especially fi you worked very hard for it to enjoy it. So if somebody has tuberculosis then why did they not just ask help, treatment for TB is only a few tablets taken on a daily basis, some health centers even give free medicines from time to time.

that's really bad for them, since they knew who did that they can sue them on the police. i don't think it is reasonable to steal from others just because of the operation of their son, if they can ask politely to borrow money or ask for help from the local government.

It means your brother knew the person, because how could that person got into his house doing the spying. He had access to the house that he made it easy for himself to get into and carried the TV. However, a troubled-mind person like the one who took your brother's TV should not be condemned for there was the obvious reason why he did such thing. He made to sacrifice his life for the sake of his beloved son. Well of course if the same happened to anybody and as for me, they may not and I do not know either how I and they will execute the pressurized anger.

I am really sad about your stolen story regarding sony bravia LCD TV but if the thing is stolen for a treatment of tuberculosis then disregard the cost of bravia.

Sorry for that story, but as I've read through it. definitely the end does not justifies the means. They could ask some help instead of stealing. They can even visit PGH and be treated as indigent.
It is difficult to trust people this time, it is important to know the whereabouts and all necessary information of the person who will come to your house just in case.

That's really unfortunate, syoti! If they have a hunch who stole it, then they should tell it to the police. It's really sad to hear about the TB but "the end does not justify the means". Stealing is wrong in whichever angle you look at it.

Is that person related to your brother? Coz how can that someone check which things in your brothers house can be stolen if he don't know that person. Even though the money will be use for a good cause, it is still not right to just break into someone's property and take things he don't own. They can asked for financial or medical help somewhere but resorting to such act isn't gonna help him at all.
