i did watch the coronation night of miss world held in London. i am amazed why there's so many filipino shouting and clapping showing their support to our own gwendolyn ruais if my spelling is correct. as a filipino of course i am for gwen and she really do and did her best to take the most coveted crown on this pageant, and i am really proud of her. to think of it, she competed with beautiful women from almost more than 120 countries and she made it to the final is an honor already. though it didn't end up as we expect yet we're really proud of her being the first runner up next to the crowned miss world. Gwen we're proud of you, and you make us filipino to be happy for your achievement..good luck...

Gwendolyn Ruais - 2nd Princess Ms. World 2011
I also was able to watch the latter part of the pageant when the announcement for top 15 candidates was being done. I actually heard over the radio that the Ms. Philippines got the 1st runner up position so that was the time I turned on the TV. Gwendolyn made the highest achievement in the Ms. World Beauty Pageant so far among all the other Ms. Philippine candidates. Too bad she was unable to get the title but getting the 2nd place is already a big, big reason to rejoice considering the fact that many of the candidates are really beautiful. Indeed there were so many Filipinos in the audience. This proves that there are indeed so many Filipinos in London. They've given Gwendolyn the much needed support. I hope next time around we can get the title.

I did not really notice this visual defect on her but honestly I found her eyes too chinky for a Filipina. Nevertheless she is beautiful in her own right. I like her height, her perfect set of teeth, the shape of her face, and the way she carries herself. She is oozing with self-confidence.

I think she did her best and we should all be proud of her, "that's just the way the ball bounces" At least a title like that would momentarily satisfy all our appetite to win more titles, honors and crowns not just in beauty pageants but also in sports, and all the other international contests. So let's be content with that right now, Pacman fight is coming up and so is the Southeast Asian games, and yes Miss World we are coming back next year to have another shot at what you said is an "elusive title"

and Pacman should put a period on this issue about Marquez, i know he can do it. let us all support him for this crucial fight.

i have watched the coronation, i think it is well anticipated that she could win the miss world, but being the 1st runner up, was still a big thing for us Filipino, we should be proud with the achievements of our fellowmen.

Im surprise really to learn that she made the 1st place/or second place.. The ranking is confusing really.. I have nothing against her, Im gald that we had a spot in Ms. World 2011. But I think Gwen looks like a gay person to me. Her built and head is so big. And I'm not impressed with her answer either. Anyway, the pageant this year was a bit cheap for me. not as sophisticated as Ms. Universe. And not so many beautiful contenders today as compared to the previous pageants..

She totally did her best even though she doesn't get the crown she's the best for us. Truly Filipinos love each other so when one person represent us, there are always lots of Filipinos who is there to cheer up and support our candidate / fighter. First runner up is also just like being the Champion because out of different countries and different beauties who competed to be champion it is really hard to get to top 15 so it is really a great achievement for Gwendolyn Ruais and also for us Filipino. Proud of her and every Filipinos that give respect to our country hope someday can also make something that will contribute to our country. =)

when she made it to the top 15, i said wow! she's going to make it..and there she did. to make it to the 15 is good enough, to the top seven far better and to be the first runner up that's one of the best. but this competition is really a stiff one, considering the extra ordinary beauty and talents other contestant have shown.
