Have you ever felt especially during college that opening textbooks trigger us to fall asleep? The books sometimes are referred to as sleeping aids because they somehow have the slumbering aura. Do you have the same experience? How do you deal with sleepiness while studying? I wonder what are your tips...

Well you have to try to start when you are not exhausted or even a bit sleepy. I usually would do like 20 mins of reading or what have you then take a quick break. Silly as it sounds I would play farmville in between or walk out to the kitchen. When you are really tired though there is a good chance you are not retaining the information anyways so you may want to put it down and try again when you are more awake.

Truly, when your focus is down, the points you read become useless. So, taking time to divert your attention to be energized again is a good choice. Thanks!

Yes! It's like a sleeping pill that I get really sleepy when it's time to study.

When I read most of the time I feel sleepy, and I think most of the people do. If you don't want to fall sleep when read you may start by not ever letting yourself fall asleep while reading. If you start to feel yourself drifting off, stop reading immediately and wake yourself up. Do a few jumping jacks, drink some coffee, and take a cold shower. Doing these things will tell your brain that reading shouldn’t make it sleepy, it should energize it. Eventually, your brain will learn its new clues and stop triggering the getting-ready-to- mechanism each time a book is in your hand.
