Mom doesn't always have such a great sense of humor, i think. So, my sister and me always wake the kids at 5:30 to get them ready for school. Normally we get this answer " i am up, don't worry" Go back after 5 minutes and they will still be asleep. Anyway, we decided this morning to change the tactic a bit. I jumped on my nieces bed to wake her and my sister took the boys. What do these damn children do? Burst out laughing and of course mom came to investiagte. I mean really, we got in trouble as kids don't have a clue as how to be damn quiet. That look we got from mom. AMAZING!!! How do you normally get you siblings, children or other family members out of bed? I wonder if i should wake mom tomorrow morning?

Hi Saphrina not any more... but yes, there were some good days in 1993 when 40 of us(our entire family's kids) were touring a different state... we (me and my dear cousin sister) got a chance to play around while waking the others up. Statutory Warning: try these at your risk Once we did the water thing... poured a glass of water on 4 of our cousins to wake them up... the other was - we used clips to close the noses of these 4 again and last one was - we did do some make up - put up extra talc, lipstics on them and me got a mirror...while my sister woke them up Today, these sound as stupid acts but, trust me, they were real fun when we did that... I dont get any chances to wake anyone these days as I always am the last one to wake up

...someone at last... Love that song and always say myself before going to bed - Next day... Wake Up Sid... and be early And it is not "if"... I am a late riser... sometime around 10:00 am I sleep late at night around 2:30 am or 3:00 am... And these medicines too make me weak to rise

DO NOT...and I repeat...DO NOT wake a "sleeping" Mother Lion! Let the siblings do that, and suffer the consequences! Miss the bus...I've spent half my life doing that (busy stilling moonshine!) Important stuff takes precedence over a lousy school bus. Education--got it out behind the "still!" Short journey---no report cards...and who cares, after a little imbibing!

Haven't you learned yet...saphy! Let sleeping dogs lie...AND let sleeping Mother's sleep on! The consequences are worse than your whips! Heck, last nite...I was making, imbibing moonshine...in the moonlight! "Dancing in the Moonlight"....as I knew I would have another work interruption this morning! Dang work...sure gets in the way of a pleasant life! OH, Lord and there goes my bus...LOL! Missed the bus again, saphy! How are you, today..........Missy?

Hello saphy, The same scene is going on in my home. Now the winter is on and kids are lazy to get up from the sleep. I interrupt their sleep in between my works in kitchen but they just don’t mind to sleep more then I have to stand nearby to make sure that they get up from the bed. My hubby pick my 4 year old from bed to wake him up but he snore in his shoulder (lol) instead of waking. It is really difficult to wake them up and make them ready for school in this winter season. I already started to blame the winter for the extra efforts we need

Let Mom sleep - that's what I say! We din't really have trouble with our children as they went to bed early. Besides, Zoe, my parrot, would as dawn scream, "Mummy, Zoe's up' and would continue to do so until I answered that I was up too. Then, imitating my husband's voice, she would say, "Boys, it's morning. Time to get up'. This always started the day with a giggle.

I remember being woken up by our hostel incharge when I was a hostel student for a year. Gosh she was scary lol There was this annoying bell and she used to ring it for about a minute. It was so annoying you just want to wake up haha! Well I am really good at getting people out of bed. I just stand there and annoy them till they get mad and chase me away haha

I kiss my younger sister's cheek, she hates that and that's how i wake her. She wakes me by tickling me, or shouting to my ear, or dragging me outta bed and hit me against the floor. LOL

I get up each morning and go see if my oldest son is up. If not, I turn his light on and tell him to get up and he does. NOW my youngest on the other hand, does not ever want to get up. He'll lay in his bed and scream and cry. I've gotten to where I open his door and let our Boxer, Abbie, in there. Abbie will run and jump on his bed and start licking him and it makes him laugh! Within a few minutes he'll be up and out of bed!

Hi sweetie. I think my mom will strangle me if i let the dogs in. They tend to want to stay in the house for some reason. But at least your dog can get your younger son out of bed.

HI Saph! It is really difficult to wake up kids early in the morning, they just won't buzz till you have reminded them to get up at least five times. . I think, a mobile handset needed to be kept near their pillow and is required to be snoozed after every 5 minutes and the first alarm should go well 15 minutes before they actually need to get up.

You could use your own handset and could place near their pillow, as you get up earlier than those kids/siblings.....

My kids would say '5 more minutes'. Even the younger one has started copying his older brother in asking for 5 more minutes. So, I've started waking them 5 minutes earlier to compensate. And of course they are also not ready after 5 minutes, so I have resorted in carrying them up and standing beside the bed. It seems they can't do anything about it when they are already up.

I try to imagine "that look" you got from your mom. I don't have too much imagination as my mom would be in bed at that time. She's not a matutinal person unlike me. I don't like to wake people up. Luckily whoever need to be waken up, Binne is taking care of. She is responsible of all the "get out of bed" jobs. I don't know anybody who wouldn't wake up with a wet beard on their chin. Do you think you could resist?

If Iam to wake someone, I usually knock in their doors, if they don't wake I give them like to 2 or 3 minutes to wake up then if still not, I knock again, open the door slightly and make sure that the person know it is time to wake up. It it is a child, I walk near, remove the sheet or the blanket and make sure that he wakes up.
