As many of you know, I have been having chemo for some months due to a lymphoma. Today I was given the results of my second bone marrow test and it was negative for cancer cells. That means the prognosis is a lot better and although I will have to have more chemo during the nrxt 2 years and controls during several years to come, it seems that there´s nothing to worry for the moment. The lymphoma is there, smaller, and there´s no absolute cure for it. But, as the doctor said, I can die of a lot of things before. I´m happy!!! I have been doing my best to accept it as a part of life but it´s sure good news that I will be around for a while longer.
I will change de tiles of the main bathroom and do a little house repairing now. I feel as if I have time to do things that 2 hours ago did not exist.
Thanks to all my friends here who have helped me keeping in good shape all this months. A HUG to all!!!

That is certainly a good news, I am very happy to hear this. I am sure that your positive attitude towards this has helped you a lot and it is very important to keep the spirits up.
I wish you to have this high moral from now on also and never give up. Miracles do exist, just we have to believe in them!

Dear boy, what we have to worry about is about how we live. We need a good quality of life and never forget that life is a miracle. And not only our life, but the whole pulse of the universe.

I am amazed by the mental strength you have, I don't know if I would have this kind of strength in your situation.
What you said is very true, that everybody will die sooner or later, so why worry about that.
Have a great time with your friends!

I was so very sad for you when I found out about your lymphoma. Now I am delighted to hear that you feel so much better and as little stronger. You have done excellently to go through all that chemo. Having the news of negative for cancer cells in your marrow bone must have been delightful. I am so pleased that you are feeling happy my dear friend. Lots of love and caring feelings to make you feel loads more better.

I hope that I´ll have some of my hair back when you come to visit, Maxine. I have discovered that vanity is my first name. I´m on a diet now due to a virus I just had, but I´m doing better every day.

Dearest Hatley,
I did not want to talk much about my treatment until I had some results, whatever they were. I´m not fond of people saying "poor..." when I don´t feel like that. I´m living my present to the fullest and I have had a wonderful life. I´m playing with my garden (it´s Spring here) and do what I can. I don´t read as much as I did as I think my energy is not as it used to be. I hope I get some of my gray cells back after a while. Meanwhile, I´m making lists not to forget too many things.

I am glad that things are starting to look up for you. I know that there have been some setbacks since this was written, but still it is a good thing to know what is going on with you. I hope that you are able to keep your positive attitude no matter what happens to you. Have a great year!!!

I try to keep a possitive attitude, Deb. You have been a great help with it. I try to applaud small things (I have eyelashes and eyebrows, for instance) and forget other things(lack of hair). Unless I don´t feel well, I will eat whatever I wish. I won´t see the doctor until the first week of February so I will not care about her or remember her until then I have 4 almost ripe tomatoes. Life is beautiful

Hi Deb,
That bone marrow test changed the number IV into maybe a number II. That means a lot because my cancer is a slow grower. I can´t wait until my stomack settles well and I can start doing my life and eating better and yummier food.

A big hug to you too, my friend - you have been so brave and positive through this and I believe our mood affects our health a lot.
I am often reading about health and found a lot of things one can do to stay or get healthy. I´m sure you are doing research on this..
Keep doing positive things and you will be fine! What wonderful news to make the spring time even better!

I´ll full of extra ideas since the good news were given to me. I´ll remodel my bathroom and maybe I´ll even paint my living and dining room. The painting job needs a little coaxing as I have to ask my friends to help me. I prepare a BIG lunch and get them brushes, aprons and everything they need. That´s how we painted it the last time

This is very good news and I hope that you continue to get better. My mother also had cancer and I know of the emotional and physical struggle that she had. Just keep your immune system healthy and I do hope that you can avoid stress if possible. These were the things that really helped my mother cope with her cancer.

Thank you very much. I´m doing all I can to cope with it and to turn it in just another illness. Fortunatly chemo has helped me a lot and although there´s no cure for my type of cancer, the fact is that there are lots of illness that have no cure and are more agresive. So, while I have a good quality of life, Ill go on leading a normal life.

The lymphona is smaller and the bone marrow is clear. That´s the best chemo can do for now. But the doctor is talking about what will happen as procedures in the next 5 years, so I imagine that I´ll be here mylotting for at least 5 more years

I'm sorry that you had to go through another bone marrow test as Tom told me that those are very painful, but I'm glad to hear that the results came back that there is not cancer in your bone marrow.
It is great that you have time to do things that you were not sure if you were going to be able to get done.
As for us, Tom's post chemotherapy PET scan is one week from Monday and then we will find out the results of that PET scan two weeks from this Friday. I'm actually starting to get anxious about it, but I still believe that the results are going to be good.

Hi friend,
I was about a week at the hospital, so I couln´t answer this post. I had an intestinal infection because my baby granddaughter came for a visit and brought a virus noone knew she had until the next day. Now I´m a lot better although I´m still with horrible diets. How did your husband´s scan go?
As for the bone marrow test, the results were so good that it was worth it. But at the time, I yelled and swore aloud (very unladylike) Do tewll us the results.

I know I'm only learning in knitting, and I know you knit and crochet, one thing good to do in your free time is to knit for cancer patients, like chemo caps?

It´s Spring now in my country, so now my garden it taking up most of my time. Besides, chemo makes me sleep a lot more than before so I take naps often. My plants are awesome and I talk to them so they grow. Now I´m transplanting basil to make pesto to last all next year.

Hello marguicha. Its a wonderful reason to rejoice and we all share the sense of relief. A person as good as you & with such wonderful attitude to life will be cherished by all your well wishers and friends here and you have a long long time to celebrate life with us.
Though your doctor tells you that there is no absolute care for the lymphoma that is dormant, I would suggest you must try some alternative therapies alongside. Like, may be homeopathy and some yoga therapy as well. I am sure the doctors will not prevent you from taking an alternative treatment that doesn't interfere with the main treatment.
We are very happy to be benefiting from your kindness and friendly advice always.

I will check if there are other helps besides the chemo. One of the things I´m interested in are special diets. I have been told that some food help and others cause damage. I will study that as I like to cook.

Thanks for your kind wishes. As for the house, it´s just planning for now. I will not have workers inside the house until my defenses are good. And even friends (the ones who will help me with the painting), I can only invite a couple at a time for now because I don´t have the energy for more. But I have hopes that everything will get done, little by little. I have learnt to live one day at a time.

oh Marguicha, I love you, I'll tell mom about the good news when she wakes up so she can tell her church members that had been praying for you all this months, your testimony regarding your prognosis would help strengthen the faith of a lot of people here, yes go on with what has to be done

Dear Louievill,
Today was my last chemo and I´m feeling as good as new. I know that this is not a complete end of the illness, but is the best prognosis under the circumstances and my doctor says I could die of anything before I die of this cancer. There will be 2 years of a follow up with some meds, similar to what they have given me, but I feel fine. Then come 3 years of controls. I think that if the doctor is talking of long term ideas it is because the illness is controlled.
Please give your mother my thanks and tell her to tell ther church members of my deep gratitude. This world would be a far better place if all people were like you. A BIG HUG

My lynphomas are still there, but smaller. My lymphoma has no cure known but is a slow grower. The chemo shrunk them to half the size and made the bad cells disappear from the bone marrow. That is VERY good, but I will have cancer all my life. But I do not have to die of it, not for a long time. I´m in the best of moods and celebrating life.
