Sometimes when I am traveling to places which are new to me, no matter what I do, I cannot sleep inside the vehicle. However, I notice that if I am always go on a certain place, I can easily sleep inside transportation vehicle. I am just talking here of those places where I always go. Sometimes, when I lack sleep, its easy for me to sleep inside a jeepney. But I never experienced to sleep on a bus. Maybe its because I think there are more people inside the bus than in a jeepney.

I enjoy getting fresh air while travelling in bus/train. I use to sleep even if it is an hour journey. nowadays i sleep in ac cars also while returning from work tired. there are some who cannot sleep while travelling in a car or bus. if i find it difficult i will take a sleeping tablet and sleep in trains.

I don't need any sleeping pills for me to be able to sleep. I don't know why but even I am at home and once my back touch the bed, I can already sleep.

The reason why you probably cannot sleep when tralvelling to new places on land is because you are excited to see the surrounding which are also new to you. I myself normally fall asleep when I ride the bus specially going to places Im already familiar with. Even just a 15 minutes bus ride, I could fall asleep easily but I managed to wake up before we arrived at my drop-off. Just be cautiopus when sleeping though, secure your valuables since some bad people might actually take advantage of the situation. Don't flaunt things that are hot to the eyes of pick pockets.

Thank you for the reminder. Yes, I do not flaunt expensive gadgets in front of many people. I keep my bag always with me and make sure that if ever one will get it, I will be awake easily.

Yes, I often sleep during the journey, in the bus, train and so on. Strictly speaking, I haven't had the official experience of traveling by boat so far. I can't sleep easily in the airplane. It is OK for the short journey, as I can watch videos, read magazine, or just take pictures of the cloud. But it would be a bit painful for the long-time journey, can't sit comfortably, too noisy to sleep or focus attention etc. I just watch films one by one.

If I have to go to a far place, I do not sleep.Especially if it is a province. I grow up in the city, that is why every time there will be a chance to go to province, it fill my heart with excitement that it really make me awake no matter how long the travel is.

I wonder why I feel sleepy when in a public transport? I think it is not safe at all but sometimes I just can't help it. There was a time when I fell asleep just one stop away from the MRT station where I should get off. I had to do a round trip and I had to experience the sardine-pack train that occurs during rush hour.

I can sleep on train if I am sitting but if standing, then I cannot. I hate to ride on it during rush hour as I am just a small woman. I feel like I will be flattened so much once I go inside a sardine-pack train.

I think it is very hard to sleep in jeepney even if the travel is long; jeepneys are too open and you need to be awake at least to be able to hold tight to the rails inside the jeepney, remember some drivers drive too fast and causes people to some serious injuries if something goes wrong. Sleeping inside the bus is much safer, and much comfortable for the commuters, right? they can really relax and so sleeping in buses would be a better option. :D I have tried to sleep in plane too, but that would depend on how long the flight is, if its just an hour ride, i guess it would be best to chitchat with friends and or view the sky! :D

I have never experienced riding on a plane. I hope that someday, I can experience how it is to ride on that transportation. I think, that will be pretty interesting and I think, I cannot sleep.

If I am a passeenger in a private vehicle, traveling with family or friends a long distance, I will take a nap sometimes. If I am on any form of public transportation, or am traveling a short distance, I will not sleep at all. With public transportation, I would feel too insecure to attempt to sleep. I would always be worried about missing my stop, or having some stranger steal my belongings. If I am traveling a shorter distace with family or friends, I prefer to just stay awake and enjoy the company rather than sleep. If I am going a far distance with my family or friends, I nap so that when the driver is tired, I can take over driving and allow them to rest a while.

Wow, you are very attentive. I think that for me to be able to be awake while on a transportation vehicle, I must had the complete sleep and must have someone to chitchat with.

There are times when I am just too tired so I just sleep. I no longer care how other people will think. When I use to live in Sweden, I was so conscious in sleeping in the bus but now it's all ok to me now that I have moved. I find it easier to sleep in a public transportation when you are alone.

I have never tried sleeping inside a bus. I guess, if I will be with someone I can trust to, then I can sleep. However, if I will be the only one and no one is with me on my way, then I do not sleep.

I cant sleep in any kind of transportation not even in planes that doesnt move that much. I am always aware of something like a guard. When I travel to my country I get very tyred because I cant sleep at all, and the journey is around 25 hours. If I am in the plane I am watching movies reading , When I am in a car I am watching the road and that the driver does the right thing in the right time hahaahah, I am laughing now. I should relax and enjoy the trip. Maybe it happens the same to You. Seat down and think about it. Have a good day annierose.

Before I use jeepneys as my means of transportation and whenever I'm on my way to school, I always fell asleep no matter how hard I fight it. They say that the smoke emitted by the vehicles have some chemicals which makes you feel sleepy when you inhaled too much of it. I say it's because of traffic that I always fell asleep. Traffic here is horrible since there are many road constructions going on. My mom always warns me not to sleep on public transportation vehicles because it's too dangerous. I might be held up or be sexually harassed while I'm sleeping. There is this one incident that a guy put his arm around me while I'm asleep. Good thing the driver of the jeep woke me up. As soon as I woke up the guy went down the jeep. I think the driver sensed that the guy was taking advantage of me so he woke me up. But this incident did not make me stop sleeping on public transportation vehicles.

I remember last time, I went shopping with my sister. Actually, I don't want to shop as I feel very tired but my mom kept on insisting that I must buy something for myself while I have time. It is because I am a very busy person. Then, when we are inside the jeep, I did not notice that I slept. When I woke up, I was surprised to see that my head is on the shoulder of a guy next to me. I was really embarrased. The man did not even move. I think I had a long sleep that time. When we got down the jeep, I asked my sister why she did not wake me up but she said, she didn't notice that. Well, I really feel embarrassed.

I am the opposite! I can sleep in the bus (coach) or in the train if my journey lasts for long. I feel sure that I am going to wake up before I reach my destination. On the other hand, in the subway, in taxis or tram I can't sleep if I don't have someone with me because I'm afraid that I will miss my stop and it's impossible for me even if I'm very sleepy. I was taking the city bus very day for 5 years, from my home to the university which was 30 minutes away and I never slept inside.

I do sleep when the journey takes hours. Like going to my hometown,it takes 6 hours reaching there,so,I sleep. Usually I also travel at night time for a more peaceful journey.

Normally i don't move by bus or jeepneys, i always prfer journey by train in 2 tier air-conditioned coach, sleep there very comfortably, it is like home. But if train is not available i move by buses that have very comfortable sits and moreover they are air conditioned.

Hi annierose. I get my best [in terms of feeling happy & satisfied after] when I travel in cars & planes. In fact I doze off very soon. It is difficult to keep awake. Even when there are co-passengers and they try to keep me engaged. My work has always involved traveling often [but not constant] distances over a few hours and just about 15-20 minutes after start is enough to see me getting into slumber. Some times, my co-passengers [familiar ones] never let me take the seat besides the driver for, my sleep may induce the guy. But it is not the case when I travel by bus or train for that matter. No matter how hard I try, I'll not be asleep until after mid journey or mid night on an overnight journey. If however, there is a perfect air conditioner, I sleep relatively easier.

Last time, my classmate was with me on my way home. She noticed that I am almost sleeping in the jeepney. I told her that I do not have much sleep. What she did was she kept on talking with me until it was our time to go down the jeep.

I wanted to sleep but I just can't my mind is so alive on what is happening with the entire travel. I am always thinking on the worst possible situation if I fall asleep. I always make it a point if I ever ride on a bus, jeepneys or other vehicle that I am always on the safe side. I sitting in front, always buckle the seat belt. Sometimes its is funny because the driver himself never buckle his seat belt, I can't bear myself riding in any vehicle with out safety precaution
