When talking about Hunter x Hunter, the character Hisoka cannot be left out - mainly due to his strong, colorful, mysterious, etc. characteristics. You would find him annoying, or on the other hand, you will fall for the charisma he has towards the viewers. He has the habit of sometimes helping the Gon and company but works with the bad boys on the other side of the coin. In your own opinion, how do you assess Hisoka? Is he more of a good guy or more of a villain for you?

He is a really mysterious person. Hisoka has a very odd personality that make us dont know if he is a bad guy or good guy. He is somewhat in the middle of that because he is doing something based only on his pleasure doesnt matter it is good or bad. The examples are, helping Gon so Gon would grow as a strong adult form him to battle with, and join Genei Ryoudan only because he wants a duel with its leader.

Yes! I couldn't agree more. He is the id personality - controlled by self-satisfaction, wants, and pleasure only. That's a a great realization about Hisoka. Thanks!

I can't decide as well. He may seem to hang out with the bad guys but he always helps Gon. Somehow I've grown to rely on him to help Gon. Not to mention that I find him amusing when he speaks in his singsong voice. It's like he's just playing. Like a child. But his intentions are always criminal. So I can't decide what to make of him.

That is the interesting part of hisoka, he is both a protagonist and an antagonist at the same time. I also had a strange feeling that he might be the unknown brother of Killua. When you look at his hand when he fights, he's just like the Zoldyeks, turning his hand into a sharp weapon to cut enemies. Anyway, maybe hisoka is just like the character of snape in harry potter, a villain which in the end turns out to be a hero.

I think hisoka is the type not to care whether he is good or bad. he never takes sides, at least not seriously. He takes pleasure in doing things he wants and doesn't consider what other people might think of him. In short, he's insane XD
